Serving Bengaluru Beyond Duty location - Hebbal Flyover starting ramp towards city market airport Road Today, at around 3:00 PM, heavy rainfall lashed Bengaluru, leading to severe waterlogging and traffic congestion at several locations across the city. While I was at home, I immediately checked Google Maps to identify the worst-affected areas with heavy traffic and waterlogging. Without waiting for any instruction, I stepped out to assist wherever help was needed. As a responsible citizen, I firmly believe that traffic management during emergencies is not the responsibility of the Traffic Police alone. During heavy rain and waterlogging, no single department can handle the situation by itself. It is our collective responsibility as citizens to stand together, support one another, and extend a helping hand in the interest of public safety. How can authorities justify this blatant disregard for their own schedule?If the metro operates till 11 PM, passengers should be allowed entry at least until the last train not turned away arbitrarily by staff. Work on the stretch from Madhuban Chowk to Mukarba Chowk has been handed over to IOCL. We have also handed over works for Chirag Dilli Flyover, Panchsheel Club Flyover, IIT Flyover, Punjabi Bagh and Aurobindo Marg. To IGL, we have handed over the work of Munirka Flyover under CSR. To Vedanta, we have handed over the work of Punjabi Bagh, Ram Mandir side and Shalimar Bagh side on Outer Ring Road side, new Rao Tula Marg Flyover. To Godrej, we have given the work of Netaji Subhash Place Flyover. To Dalmia, we have given the work of Oberoi and Lodhi Road, Mangi Flyover. To DLF, we have given the work of Karampura Flyover. Similarly, Delhi Govt is in talks with several other companies. Through CSR, everyone shares the responsibility to keep Delhi clean...I also appeal to the people of Delhi that by becoming 'paryavaran rakshak' we should all work towards this city.
