"How do you then sell that event to the TV companies that you're promising all your best players to be there. "I think something has to change for the PDC to ensure that their best players are at these TV tournaments. "The problem for the top players is there's an awful lot of money to be made out there currently with exhibitions. "It's very difficult to say no on those weekends off and those top 10/12 guys are getting offered crazy money to do what they do. Wild Rift matchmaking is at an all-time low. Wild Rift is the only game that matches the rank 3 (top 0.000001%) player with top 15% players. Master tier in Wild Rift is top 15% of players btw. Climbing has become extremely easy for those who spam games, due to the loss shields you gain from playing a lot. There are many examples of 48% winrate Master+ players with 1,000+ games. So even these top 15% players should be even lower in ranking. Their skill level is nowhere near the elo that they are in. This is not only an issue in Master+ but in every elo. PapaSmoothie incentivize players to queue up for Legendary Queue (there hasn't been a single legend player in the last few seasons in NA and EU) or fix normal ranked. I'm surprised this is not a top priority considering how many players quit the game over the matchmaking. My Youtube comments, stream chat, discord server, and X mentions are flooded with complaints about the matchmaking.

Man, the more I watch old footage, the more I realize Michael Jackson was an absolute phenomenon a true once in a generation talent. There are moments in his performances where his movement, his control, his charisma it all feels so superhuman that you genuinely start to wonder if he was built different. Like he wasn’t playing by the same rules as the rest of us.🤦🏾‍♂️ And then you remember he was only 17 years old when he was doing all of that. Just a teenager. That level of greatness at such a young age is honestly insane. What a gift he was to the world 😮‍💨

Happy for all the new up and coming players and we should celebrate them, But rankings are tainted the closer to the top you get The attached clip is the moment shit took a turn for the worse. Cody Schwab Its funny seeing you act like this back then, and then nowadays playing victim saying its not an advantage and its too late to do anything about it. You know damn well that all of the top players got on a call last year and we agreed that we had to get rid of zump but because of the timing it fell through. You said yourself years ago how broken it is, you know damn well its not just a simple remap so stop acting like its the same thing as claw. And stop hiding behind box technicality, you know that the top players all wanted to ban zump and not touch box. Box serves as melee's accesibility tool, Zump has ZERO reasoning to exist. Your credibility is already lackluster, this is 100% anti-top player behaviour. Shame on you, as top rep of the game, you should know better than to hide behind technicalities, making mockery of melee's historied players, stories and legacies for your own benefit. You’d be shocked at how many scouts have LiveBarn accounts. They want to watch you practice to see how much you value getting better. There’s a long road between where you are today and the level you aspire to be at - they want to know you’re going to put in the work to get better so you’re able to play at the next level. 2. They’re watching you on the bench. How do you interact with your teammates? Do you take coaching? Are you pumped for your teammates and engaged in the game? Do you have good body language? These intangibles are what get scouts excited on top of what they see on the ice. It’s the little things that make championship players and teams. As a chess player, I understand the discipline, patience, and strategic thinking the game demands. These are not just skills for the board, they are skills for life. Yesterday, I had the distinct honour of meeting with legendary Chess Grandmaster Judit Polgár as the Jamaica Chess Federation launched a bold and visionary initiative, to create Jamaica’s first chess grandmaster within the next 10 years. More than a title this programme is about sharpening the minds of our children, giving them the tools to think critically, to plan, to problem-solve, and to persevere. It’s about planting seeds of excellence in communities across Jamaica and watching a generation rise with the confidence that they, too, can be among the world’s best. I fully support this programme, and commend the leadership of the Jamaica Chess Federation as they continue the remarkable work of expanding and popularizing chess as another avenue through which our country can pursue and achieve greatness. Beyond being a sport, I believe in what chess can unlock in the minds of our youth; building capacity, creating opportunities, and expanding the landscape of what is possible for our people.

For a start, the AI has to be obedient, that is it has to actually do the things it is programmed to do, whereas a human is fundamentally disobedient, especially when being creative. When a human plays chess, they are performing a completely different kind of computation. They don't do the same things, they don't investigate the same possibilities that the artificial chess playing machine does, because the artificial one is capable of looking at billions and billions of possibilities, whereas the human can only look at hundreds or something. They are doing something completely different. Another difference is that the human can explain, can write a book later, having become world champion, can write a book saying how I did it, as the computer program that beats the world champion can write no such book, because it has no idea how it did it. It was just following a program. I was doing this and that and that and none of that is illuminating. Also, third thing, the chess player can decide I don't want to play chess anymore, from now on I will play Go or from now on I will play tennis. If commanded to play chess, the functionality will deteriorate completely. Those things are different. We're just looking at the stats like, 'Man, you gotta score 30 points, you gotta do this and that.' But man... it changed so much and brings so much to the team and to the organization." 💯

Everything and everyone matters when you’re pursuing greatness and trying to get the most out of players on a team. We are fortunate to have the coaching staff we have. The coaches put in 2-3x the work in preparation as players. I appreciate Coach Tim Walton putting the effort into these moments to create more connection with the young guys. These moments are why these young guys go out and go all out for him. There’s lots that goes into running a team. You need all coaches and players moving in the right direction. All coaches have different styles and techniques to create connection. It’s cool that this is one of them. Ohio State Football

Let’s be respectful of the fact that we don’t know everything. That’s the receiver’s fault.’ How do you know?” “You weren’t in that meeting room. The game is chess. It’s not checkers.” “We look at the head coaches, but let’s look at the assistant coaches. To me, those are more important. I didn’t coach the players as a head coach. I coached the coaches.” “I wanted them to have that relationship with the player, not just me. If intervention was needed, I would intervene. But let them do their thing.” “Let the coaches call their games. Let the coaches coach the individual players. You can see it from afar and coach the coaches. Scottie Scheffler was asked ahead of the Masters if he’s surprised himself with how quickly he became the best player in the world and not only did he give a great answer, but he also explained why pathways are so important: “I mean, that's a good question. I think it's a hard one to answer. I always had faith and belief in myself, but I didn't -- I never told myself I want to win these tournaments. I always just had what I feel like were dreams and aspirations, and I feel like I had the talent to be able to accomplish certain things. “I never really kind of thought this far ahead. I dreamed of having a chance to win the Masters tournament, and I'm fortunate to have been able to have done that twice. Did I imagine that? I imagined myself winning, and I was hopeful I could accomplish that, but I didn't set out, when I came off the Korn Ferry Tour, you know what, I'm going to get to No. 1 in the world. I'm going to win this many majors. I'm going to win this many tournaments. “It was more taking it a step at a time. My manager was a big part of that as I turned pro. When I turned pro, I kind of went through all the steps. I tried some Monday qualifiers for the Korn Ferry Tour. I played some mini tour events to stay sharp. I went through Q-School, went through Korn Ferry Tour, and then I got out on the PGA Tour. Everything for me was step by step. “The year I played on the Korn Ferry Tour, I had some opportunities to come out here and play on the PGA Tour, but my manager and I kind of spoke about just being -- you can only be on the Tour where you're at, and our goal that year was to continue to play good golf, focus on the Korn Ferry Tour, develop, get better, and then get ready for the PGA Tour. “We just kind of took everything step by step, so I never really looked that far ahead, to be honest with you.” Scottie Scheffler’s rise to the top happened fast but he had to work his way up from the bottom tiers of professional golf. He turned pro in 2018 after graduating and played Monday Qualifiers for the Korn Ferry Tour, he then earned a card via Q School for 2019. That year he was Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year and earned a PGA Tour card for the 2019/20 season where he was rookie of the year. He then made his Ryder Cup debut in 2021, beating the then world number 1 Jon Rahm in the singles. That gave him the confidence to go on and win 3 times in early 2022 to overtake Jon and become world number 1 himself. He then won the 2022 Masters by 3 shots over Rory McIlroy becoming just the 5th player in history to don the green jacket as the best player in the world and he’s never looked back. Since the start of 2022 Scottie has won 25 times worldwide, including 4 majors, an Olympic gold medal and won The Players twice. He’s 3 legs towards the Career Grand Slam and looking to win his 3rd Masters title this week. He also has 16 top 10s in the 22 majors he’s played since 2020. Truly astonishing.
