Backed by ByteDance (TikTok), and announced for PC, this RPG feels like an ambitious proof-of-concept for the whole "AI NPCs" idea that several companies have been trying to hype in the last couple of years. It goes hard on generative AI and other implementations of the tech. This was one of 12 games shown by ByteDance at ChinaJoy 2026 btw. The game seems to actually be real, and a Steam page is already online (link in 🧵). No release date yet. (personal note: this tweet is not me promoting or supporting gen-AI in gaming. Personally, I don't find this game appealing, although I am curious to see how it all works out when it launches. If it does. I do think it's an interesting case-study, and it's a title that has created quite a lot of buzz in some industry circles, so it's worth being aware of it.
