HUGE WIN: Prosecutor throws out Toronto police charges against David Menzies Rebel News reporter David Menzies was arrested by Toronto police while trying to ask anti-Israel protesters questions in a public space. Moments ago, William Deck, an Ontario Crown prosecutor, told a Toronto justice of the peace that he will not pursue charges against David Menzies, dealing a stinging rebuke to the police who have been targeting him. Deck told the court there is “no reasonable prospect of conviction” — something the whole world could see from the very beginning. The charges in question were laid in March, when David was reporting on a violent pro-Hamas rally outside a Liberal Party fundraiser attended by Justin Trudeau. David was trying to interview the Hamas protesters and they assaulted him. But, bizarrely, police arrested David — it was as if the police were acting as the bodyguards for the Hamas protesters. The entire arrest was caught on video, including police trying to come up with a plausible excuse to arrest David for doing journalism. They finally settled on “obstruction” of police, claiming that David refused to show his ID. That was a laughable lie, as David was literally wearing his ID around his neck on a lanyard, and the officers even knew him by name. It was another embarrassing moment for Toronto’s police force, that has tolerated a crime wave of antisemitic violence. One of the arresting officers was the notorious “Officer Bubbles”, Adam Josephs, who made international headlines for arresting someone for blowing bubbles at a political protest, and then sued people for making cartoons about his anger issues. It’s shocking that Officer Bubbles is allowed back on the streets, but perhaps that was a reason prosecutors decided there was no chance of conviction. Today’s courtroom victory marks the second time this year that charges against David have been dropped — the first time was when Chrystia Freeland’s RCMP bodyguards stepped in David’s way when he was asking her questions, and then falsely claimed he assaulted them. Those charges were dropped almost immediately, as police realized their scheme was caught on video, too. This leaves one more false arrest for which David still faces legal persecution — when he attended a pro-Israel rally outside Toronto’s city hall and attempted to interview antisemitic gate-crashers shouting bigoted insults. Bizarrely, police claim David was “trespassing” — on public property. We’ll win that legal battle, too. But that’s the point — it’s a battle. Today’s court hearing was the third time in a few weeks that David has had to come to court, and that we’ve had to pay for a law firm. The process is the punishment, and none of the police involved have any price to pay for their misconduct. I watched David’s court for over an hour today. He had to sit and wait for a dozen other cases to proceed first. Every criminal lowlife in Toronto was in the same courtroom — and David was forced to go through that same process for the “crime” of journalism. I have promised David we’ll always be there for him, we’ll always cover his legal fees, and we’ll always fight for his freedom. Unfortunately, that’s expensive. If you can help us bear that burden, I’d be grateful. Because once we’ve managed to get the last charges against him thrown out, we plan to sue the police themselves for violating David’s rights as a reporter and a citizen. Today, despite having informed the police in advance that I intended to attend a gathering of supporters of the Islamic Republic, I was subjected to unacceptable and deeply concerning conduct by the Metropolitan Police Service. While I had engaged in no form of violence and was merely asking participants simple questions including “Are you Iranian?” and “Do you support the Islamic Republic?” I was first assaulted by a woman who threw a sandwich at my face. Shortly afterwards, I was suddenly subjected to physical force by a police officer. This use of force was so excessive and unprofessional that it aggravated an existing injury to my rib. Following this incident, instead of protecting me as the victim of an assault, the police threatened me that I must either leave London or face arrest. I was then again presented with the ultimatum of leaving the area or being arrested. This occurred despite the fact that the assault against me took place in full view of police officers, who failed to take any meaningful action to protect me. This conduct constitutes not only a clear violation of my right to freedom of expression and peaceful presence at a public gathering, but also demonstrates unequal and discriminatory treatment by the police. I will be pursuing this matter through the appropriate legal and oversight channels and will be filing a formal complaint against the Metropolitan Police Service for the violation of my rights. A teen who was assaulted and slammed by a Warren police officer during booking has filed a $50 million lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed this week by Fieger Law. Matthew Rodriguez, 48, an officer with 14 years on the force, was charged Friday with assault and battery charges. Warren police announced Monday that he had been fired According to the lawsuit, the teen suffered physical and mental damage due to excessive force, and the city of Warren failed to properly train the officer. A teen who was assaulted and slammed by a Warren police officer during booking has filed a $50 million lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed this week by Fieger Law. Matthew Rodriguez, 48, an officer with 14 years on the force, was charged Friday with assault and battery charges. Warren police announced Monday that he had been fired According to the lawsuit, the teen suffered physical and mental damage due to excessive force, and the city of Warren failed to properly train the officer. VIDEO: Carjacking suspect facing murder charges after deadly chain of events in East Dallas FOX 4 NEWS ... DALLAS - A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder and robbery Thursday after allegedly carjacking a vehicle and crashing into a pedestrian in East Dallas, police said. Tyrell Jones, 25, was arrested after being treated at a hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. According to Dallas police, Jones was booked into the Dallas County Jail on charges of murder and robbery. No bond has been set. According to the document, witnesses saw Jones appear to be intoxicated on unknown drugs before shoving a victim out of her car, speeding off and hitting another vehicle down the block. The document says Jones first tried to get into the carjacking victim's car several times before falling and appearing hurt, at which point she stopped and got out to check on him. He ran at her again, the document says, and she got back in the car to try to drive away. He then jumped through her window, the document says, pushed her out, and sped off. Other witnesses then saw the stolen car crash into another vehicle stopped at a stop sign, pushing both cars through the intersection and onto the sidewalk. That crash struck a pedestrian, identified as Jose Avila, who ended up pinned between the cars and a tree. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Gina Carpio witnessed the carjacking take place, and spoke with FOX 4 Friday to describe the scene. Carpio said the victim of the carjacking was screaming for help and honking her horn when Jones jumped into her car. "She tries to get out of the car, pushes the door open, then I think he kicked her in the stomach, got in her car and drove," Carpio said. "And I mean, it was the craziest drive you've ever seen. Her and I were standing here hoping he didn't hit anybody." Another witness who lives across from the scene of the crash was emotional when considering the senseless loss of life.

An elderly man was physically assaulted in the middle of the road by a car driver in #Bengaluru's #Nagadevanahalli following a minor altercation. Naveen then got out of the car and charged at the elderly man despite his mother trying to push him back. As Nanjundappa walked nearly 200 meters away from the spot, Naveen allegedly drove his car ahead, blocked his path, and assaulted him again. I was a TV reporter in Seattle when CHOP happened. By then, I'd been covering Antifa for 10 years and was one of their favorite targets. But CHOP took things to another level. It was made worse after my security guard disarmed rioters of police rifles they'd stolen out of burning cop cars a couple days earlier. The day the area around the precinct was abandoned by Seattle Police Department, my crew was mobbed and forced to seek refuge in a fire station. The next day, I posted the raw footage showing what we endured. My boss was NOT HAPPY. I didn't ask his permission, because I knew what the answer would be. I knew he would say no. So, I did it without asking. There are TV reporters at every single station in Seattle that have similar stories. A black KIRO 7 reporter was harassed by BLM rioters and chased out of Westlake Park a couple years ago. Her videographer posted the video - then his bosses made him take it down. Oddly, stations don't seem to hide or downplay violence inflicted on their reporters by the right (albeit such instances are rare here. In 2021, a right-wing lunatic pepper sprayed journalists at the state capitol. Everyone covered it. No one suggested the reporters deserved it.) Is it fear? Bias? Whatever it is, it has only emboldened Antifa over the years. They assault reporters and get away with it, because many of those same reporters choose to hide it (or are forced to hide it by their corporate bosses). Maybe some of those reporters will be willing to come forward and share those stories now that time has passed. No reporter deserves to be attacked or intimidated for doing their job.
