Philips introduced Skylight, a ceiling-mounted LED panel that makes windowless rooms feel like they have a sky-facing window. It uses Signify’s NatureConnect tech to create the depth, brightness, and color shifts of natural daylight. Philips also follows the sun throughout the day, moving from cool morning light to warmer... show more

A lot of exciting new consumer product launches recently. Some of my favorites are from Philips, Mondo Robotics, LINC, and Autonomous. Check out the latest drops:

@Philips

@Philips Feels like a black mirror episode

@Philips You WILL use the fake skylight. You WILL eat the bugs.

@Philips

LINC introduced an adaptive supplement system that feels like the WHOOP of nutrition. It connects to WHOOP, Oura, Apple Health, and Apple Watch to read signals like sleep, recovery, strain, and activity. The countertop dispenser turns your daily supplement dose into a personalized drink.

Autonomous introduced Key, a battery-free NFC key that physically unlocks the distracting apps on your phone. You choose which apps to lock, then tap the @autonomous_labs key on your phone to start a timed unlock session. Your phone can start the lock, but cannot lift it without the physical key, which makes it much harder to casually cave.

Mondo Robotics introduced Beni, an all-terrain autonomous camera robot built to follow and film you outdoors. @mondorobotics can track you from behind, alongside, or in orbit while shooting up to 4K video. It can hit nearly 18 mph, jump over obstacles, do backflips and sideflips, and auto-edit highlight reels.

That’s this week’s consumer product breakdown. Follow @ritwikpavan for more consumer product breakdowns.

@Philips Cool tech Likely businesses will adopt it. Think health clinics that can’t have windows due to privacy but still want customers to feel at comfortable

@Philips This is a use case I didn’t think about!

@Philips

@Philips question though, since this is an AI video, how accurate is this render?

@Philips It has to also leak during the rainy day to make it even more natural.

@Philips They’ve turned us into countertop strawberry plants

@Philips Also was that a full AI made commercial

@Philips This will be great for my post-apocalyptic bunker

@Philips This is insanely dystopian and as human beings need to be rejecting technologies like this

@Philips Is this going to end up making people feel as weird/gross as LED’s do?

@Philips no human involved. Is this actually a Philips video?

@Philips This one is cool and originally developed by an Italian company (whose version is actually much better in terms of results though probably much more expensive @CoeLux )

@Philips dublin landlords will start buying these and gonna add €800 to an already existing €1400 rent for a room as big as a burrito that you share with 6 other people 😭😭😭

@Philips "mom it's summer, i want to play outside under the blue sky" "we have blue sky at home"

@Philips So like what about Windows?

@Philips @scootykins its perfect

@Philips @grok how much is it?

@Philips Needed this in my murray hill 1 flex 2 cave 16yrs ago...

@Philips

@Philips And as an added bonus, it destroys your skin with UV radiation (at least one of the variants does). Am I missing something here?

@Philips Wow we really are living in hell

@Philips Think Coelux came out with this a couple years ago, much larger and different shapes. Assuming its more expensive

@Philips If the Skylight really works, it dramatically disrupts the largest market of them all - Real Estate.

@Philips Too weird. You’d feel disconnected from the reality of the day and the weather.

@Philips very cool, this will be perfect for morning wake ups!

@Philips Omg I’m gonna see @heybask with 5 of these above his head 😆

@Philips Firstly, they introduce a shitty mitochondria-starving light spectrum, now they solve the problem they created by shoving this thing out there. Yeah I think I'll just go outside, mate.

@Philips Tech keeps solving problems that used to force humans outside. The next question is whether we still remember why we wanted windows

@Philips This is so Barcelona coded !

@Philips one of the most disturbing things ive ever seen

@Philips Does it support Matter and Thread?
