Okay coolest Adobe Sneaks of the year award goes to Project Light Touch. Adobe calls this "spatial lighting mode" -- interactively move your light source around within a 3D volume and voila -- your image is accurately relit. They're probably using ML to infer a PBR + depth map under the hood ala. Beeble AI. When creatives ask for control -- this is what they mean.

How about one image straight to an editable UE5 or Blender scene? Lumera just dropped paper - Engine-Native Editable 3D World Reconstruction with Objects & Lighting. You give it an image. It figures out what's in the scene, rebuilds every object as a separate mesh, then recreates the lighting as actual engine lights you can move and tweak. Even pulls an HDR environment out of the shot. The lighting part is the big deal here. Every other image-to-3D approach bakes it in. Lumera keeps it a parameter, like the scene was built in the engine from the start. Code and weights marked as "Soon". Paper -

I prompted Omma to build a #threejs app with real dynamic lighting on a 3D mesh - generated from a single image, using Depth Anything v2 + Transformers from Hugging Face ⚡ Depth estimation in the browser 🫧 3D mesh from the depth map 💡 Dynamic lighting reacting to the geometry No manual code. Pure AI prompting. The future of 3D on the web feels wide open.

This Grok Project will take any image and transform it into a prompt with details, such as lighting, style, and subject matter. You can then use the prompt in Grok Imagine for images and videos. Click the video, and it will take you to the Grok Project.

Adobe just released its first “commercially safe” Adobe Firefly Video in public beta. You can access it in Adobe Premiere & a new Firefly mobile app. Scene to Image & Text to Image are interesting for 3D artists, as you have a lot of control over your images. What do you think?

TIL that you can adjust a light's falloff color by using the Ray Length output from the Light Path Node, clamping it down, and plugging it into some color-based nodes! Super handy for stylized lighting! 🤩 #b3d #blender3d #blender #lighting #nodes

Midjourney-to-3D is now available! (Indeed, you can convert any 2D image to 3D) Please note that, for now, you'll need to manually set a depth map for your image in order to view its correct 3D version. (You can use to generate the depth map) But... stay tuned! We'll soon be offering instant 3D conversion for any image. *This is just an experimental version, and any feedback or videos of your results would be really interesting to see!

🚨 A single image → a fully editable UE5 world. Introducing Lumera: a turnkey pipeline that reconstructs an engine-native 3D scene directly from ONE image — not just pixels, point clouds, or Gaussians. It gives you: → object-level 3D meshes → editable 3D layouts → engine-native lights → HDR environment lighting → a scene ready for Unreal Engine 5 In other words: Image → 3D world → UE5. We believe the future of image-to-3D is not “generate something that looks 3D.” It is generate the actual world project. 🌐 📄

“The lighting system in Cape Coast is like that of London, and the security is also 100%. You can go anywhere at any time, and no one will harm you.” — Cape Coast Mayor, Justice George Arthur, makes a bold claim about Cape Coast’s street lighting and security.

3D scenes, built locally. Describe what you want in plain language. Edge0 can generate a structured 3D scene, then modify and refine it on your phone or PC. No project data leaves the device.

Designers don’t think in prompts. They think in shots, lighting, framing, and space. Magnific's 3D Scenes uses Marble to turn a single image into a controllable 3D environment, giving creative teams control and consistency for campaign visuals. Read the case study ↓

Adobe just dropped Assisted Editor (beta) in Photoshop and it's wild 🤯 You can literally drag a slider to change the lighting of an image with AI I’ve been using it to create frames for my AI videos! Super useful. It's in main Photoshop (not beta).
