Today on Honestly, the University of Chicago professor speaks with @BariWeiss on how the Socratic approach to life—and leaning on others to help uncover truth—is our best shot at finding meaning.

Logic dictates that something—or someone—always had to exist. Assume it was a “someone,” not a “something.” Why would such a being create a world like ours, one filled with pain? The Advent of Time provides a definitive answer.

@AgnesCallard I wanted to be disabused of my opinion that studying philosophy is a waste of time. I wasn’t. This interview sounded to me like a narcissistic woman justifying leaving the stability of her family cause she “felt” it, with big words.

@AgnesCallard Has she asked Bill Clinton?

@TheFP @AgnesCallard I think, or at least this statement doesn’t comport wirh my experience. Lots of people know how to live their lives, the difficulty is actually doing what one knows they’re supposed to do. Living how one is supposed to diverges, frequently, with how one wants to live their life.
