i'd love to see evolutionary simulations that run in this world

Yep, I plan to create control systems for the ragdoll characters by running a genetic algorithm.

Does it involve fluid dynamics simulation? Could you tell us which application you used to make this? Godot?

That's probably more like heavy water than normal water, but it does look really good. The multicolour helps to show how it's all flowing, and I do think overall you've got the physics down. It might need some tweeking, or maybe for game play reasons it's better like this.

The water is more viscous than I would like. But it has to interact with other physical entities, which imposes certain limits, that I compromized as much as I could, and it's as liquid as I could get.

Yeah, I bet it's not easy to get it just right. The particles are a lot bigger than water molecules, so they'll naturally have more friction between them.

i love this. i was working on a fluid simulation a few months back but this is so cool is there any way i can play around with it?

I plan including a sandbox mode into the game, but don't know when will I release it.

How do you couple rigid-body simulation with particle simulation? Are rigid bodies approximated by particles at some point, or do they always stay polygonal and treat particles as circle colliders?

Zolden's profile picture

Particles do collision checks for other particles and for rigid bodies as well.

Why didn’t you make your rigid bodies out of particles as well?

Maybe I will.
