the key factor in this scenario is the conservation of momentum. When the weight is released from the top of the swing, it has a certain amount of momentum due to its mass and velocity. As it swings down towards the ball, it transfers some of that momentum to the ball, causing the ball to swing up towards the girl's face.

As AI becomes more capable, the only law it will really have to obey is the law of physics. -- to me that's a powerful argument: AI specifications will mutate and evolve and we shouldn't really expect any fundamental constants. The only reasonable assumption we can make is that these systems, being really capable, will be able to reason from "first principles" with impressive accuracy and efficiency.
