Auto rider considering his vehicle is a jugaad, with pathetic brakes and zero real time safety after a collision should never ride it above 30 kmph imho.
How does gap picking come into the picture here ? Auto guy is coming in the wrong direction and driving at maniacal speed, totally at fault.

Auto was at high speed though it was driving on the wrong side of the lane. Wrong side driving should be made most stringent traffic violation in our country urgently. @nitin_gadkari
