I’m working on a new video about performance in Expo apps — and I’ve got to say, by far the most impressive technique I’ve found is digging into React Native Worklets (from Software Mansion). Realizing you can offload heavy computations into a custom runtime to keep your JS thread free and your app responsive just blew my mind. It feels like you can generate CPU power out of nowhere 😅 Stay tuned!

We've benchmarked opening some apps on video with the Low Latency Profile enabled and disabled, and you can see differences in how quickly things appear. For some things, it's a fraction of a second faster, for others, it's a significant increase in speed. In our testing, this new Low Latency Profile is a major improvement in overall responsiveness when it comes to opening apps and flyouts. Today, I signed a decree introducing a sanctions package against Russian and other individuals and entities supporting Russia’s military system. These include developers, manufacturers, and suppliers of drones for the occupiers, individuals assisting in importing critical components into Russia, as well as those training drone operators. In total, more than a hundred entities and individuals. We are actively working with our partners to synchronize these sanctions with their respective measures. It is crucial that all our partners continue to intensify sanctions pressure on Russia. Without foreign components and without schemes to bypass sanctions, Russia cannot sustain its terror campaign. Every “Shahed” drone and every Russian missile contains dozens of foreign components. That is why it is essential for our sanctions pressure to work hand in hand with the global effort.
