If there is a component that pierces the battery during bending that is not good at all. I can guarantee Google are looking into if this can be replicated easily. It's not the world's biggest issue but the idea that bending it backwards might create a bomb is very bad PR.

Any phone exploding should be recalled no matter what. This is a massive L take. This could lead to lawsuits it’s not something to just chill over, the phone literally caught on fire. Does not matter at all how extreme the test is.
