Playing 1.23 Experimental has made me realize how overpowered assault rifles are in vanilla DayZ. Even when people wear the best armor (plate + tactical helmet), they die so quickly. I'm not a fan of this as it lowers the skill ceiling of the game. It's all about who... sees who first (encourages camping) and less about actually hitting your shots, making tactical decisions to shoot headshots/legs etc. Sure I can play on my own servers and change whatever I want, but I don't think it's constructive to improving the game. Will be submitting my thoughts to the feedback tracker as well. Please share your thoughts on this. Would like to see how others think about this, especially as the majority is used to playing like this. 👍show more

Vital organ status effects could solve this. Hitboxes are there already. I.E: lungs take damage = stamina drain, heavy bleed, heavy health drain until death. Not insta-death, but certain death after a short time. Then make torso more resistant to damage for simple flesh wounds.

I think if you're concerned about skill ceiling in vanilla DayZ you are playing the wrong game. Vanilla damage fits the game perfectly imo. That's also the beauty of mod support, because there are plenty of servers that allow you to play a different version of the game.

Personally, I find players to be tanks more after than not. There’s no reason why one bullet to the chest shouldn’t put anyone down. I’d love to see a more accurate showing of bullet damage - something similar to that of Squad. I think that would encourage more strategic player movement and less running and gunning as we have seen be the main method of play in recent years. More survival and strategy - less quick moving running and gunning.

I've seen enough combat footage from Ukraine to see people taking hits to the chest and being completely functional still (it takes a while before they notice the damage because of adrenaline). More importantly from a balance perspective it lowers the skill ceiling a lot and as I said, it makes aiming for legs or head obsolete.

You need to stop trying to get the devs to ruin vanilla when you don’t play vanilla. Every change you’ve made on your server is to make the game easier so don’t talk about skill. The overwhelming majority of players want the game to be challenging.

I understand what people who are against your opinion say but I also dont understand how after 6 hours of looting and having end game gear that weights a ton You can STILL get dropped uncon after 1 shot to the chest from literally every sniper rifle above cr527.

Uhh no it's not. Level 3 steel or ceramic can stop numerous rounds of 5.56mm. Realism is not the point though. Talking about gameplay balance.

The Modernistic Renovation of London Liverpool Street Station 🏙 The time is finally upon us that the Liverpool Street station I've loved for so long is about to see changes that myself and others see as incredibly controversial. A great effort has been made by various people to try and stop this from happening. Though my fears are that the renovations will still go ahead, if people did manage to stop it, I would not feel that I've wasted my time in making this video because it's only by alerting the public that we can help to prevent, or simply raise awareness on such issues. Just imagine all the plans we don't hear about until it's already too late.
