Today I am experimenting with visionOS 27’s native Gaussian Splat Rendering It’s limited to 200,000 splats, BUT due to this, you can render them in shared space Zmienny helped train a rough test scan of my Rem figurine that I could place right next to the real one. Awesome

Prototyping a WebGPU compute rasterizer for Gaussian Splats at PlayCanvas. No quads, no draw calls — just pure compute shaders blending of splats per tile. Here's the tile load heatmap.

🚀 Just added SPZ export to my 360° → 3DGS pipeline! 📊 8M splats → only 33MB (vs ~466MB PLY) ✨ New features: SPZ v3 format for 10x smaller files Adaptive sampling - more Gaussians where detail matters Quality presets: Low→Ultra (250K to 8M splats) Transform any equirectangular panorama into a Gaussian splat VR scene Painting: Joakim Skovgaard. Big reason why I'm pro-Maye scrambles are examples like these in the red zone. 1st clip - Maye scrambles for 8 yards on 3rd-&-3 vs. two-high safeties 2nd clip - 15-yard TD to Stevenson vs. cover-1 with a spy on Maye. Rhamondre wins 1v1. If defenses keep playing two-high, Maye's mobility becomes a huge asset.

Esri just brought gaussian splatting to the web. ArcGIS Maps SDK 5.0 introduces a native GaussianSplatLayer for SceneView. Splats now stream directly into browser-based GIS apps.

Object detection on 3D Gaussian Splats. Accurate bounding boxes per detection, runs locally. Nigel Hartman ᯅ really cooked here SensAI Hackademy is hosting a lecture with Ian Curtis from World Labs on the 8th on this:

A look at the future of VFX? Testing Gaussian Splats plug-in for After Effects, combined with close to real-time ai transformation with Krea ai and fire/smoke generated with Runway Gen3. This could be camera tracked and comped with real footage.. 😍 #art #ai

Apple just trained a 3D Gaussian head reconstruction model on 10,000+ subjects. Feed-forward. No test-time optimization. New identity in, reconstructed Gaussian head out. The UV-parameterized Gaussian representation decouples the number of Gaussians from the number and resolution of input images, making it practical to train with many high resolution views. And the heads are not just static either: text-conditioned identity generation, plus blendshape-driven latent animation across identities. We've been building in the 3D Gaussian Splatting space for a while. The gap between "research demo" and "works on real people at scale" is closing fast.
