Playing FFXIV for the 1st time: Loaded into the 'real world' (after tutorial) and was greeted by a huge number of people. I thought they were NPCs, turns out they were real players welcoming me into the game! Literally nearly cried. I love this community so much already 🌱

Yeah. while this is only common with streamers it's not because they are streamers but because the stream lets all us veterans know "A SPROUT COMETH PREPARE THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE" without a stream we simply can't know where and when a new player will appear. Also we can't do it for every new player or we'd be standing there 24/7 lol.

This is an EXTREMELY common occurrence with streamers, it's not the FFXIV fanbase, it's YOUR fans. Streamers with a following will ALWAYS have huge crowds and bigger names actually cause such bad congestion that players can't access entire areas because of their simping parades.

Indeed cause you stream the game you will be greeted like this in every expansion, Were if your not a streamer. You’re pretty much on your Lonesome throughout. ^^ But welcome to FFXIV :) enjoy ^^

‼️WATCH THIS VIDEO ‼️ There is SO MUCH to examine in the Crowd‼️ There were people dressed to blend into the shrub. They were in Gillie suits. Was it our Military? WHAT WERE THEY DOING⁉️ People were coming out of that first row of shrubs like they were climbing out of a hole after Charlie was shot.

I'm starting to think the people who have been fucking this world to death are way more evil than any of us thought they were. And I was pretty positive they were evil incarnate already.

Miles on the physicality of a W game and what it was like being out there for the first time: “I don’t think this game was a fair test just because they’re a bunch of young rooks too, so it kind of was like playing against college girls who I literally were just playing against, so I’m excited to play like a vet, experienced, tested team. But nonetheless… they came out very strong. I thought Cotie was really great, setting the tone physically.”

"The day Pokémon Go came out, I always say it's the closest we've come to world peace." Cyan Banister explains why she invested in Niantic, the company that created Pokémon GO, before it became one of the biggest mobile games in history. Cyan's conviction came from watching people play Niantic’s first game: Ingress. "My friends were playing it. I started noticing other people playing it, but it was a fringe game that not a lot of people were playing." "But the behaviors they were displaying—they were renting helicopters. They were chartering boats. They were ditching their friends at DEF CON in Las Vegas to go out into the desert to claim these invisible things that didn't exist other than in this app." "Then I found out about Pokémon, and I was like, 'Oh my gosh, if you put Pokemon in this world? That's insane. It's going to blow up.'" "Trying to convince people after I invested to co-invest with me was impossible. They were like, 'No one's going to hold their phone up and look at invisible Pokémon.'" "Sure enough, I don't know if you were there the day that Pokémon Go came out. I always say it's the closest we've come to world peace." "It was one of the most magical few weeks of my life, and probably many people's lives when that game came out."

They were so mad because they thought they were gonna bully me off the internet. So, I decided to research every negative story ever published about her. I broke this story and one of the members reached out to me about it. That’s when I first learned there was much more beneath the surface. 🎯❤️

This clip reminded me of why I quit Street Fighter V back in Season 2. At Headstomper 2017, I hanged out with top players and all they did the whole time was bitch about the game. It was really depressing. Playing a game that people love is better for your soul.

Why don't we have this level of NPC density in recent AAA Games? Assassins Creed: Unity was by no means perfect, you can clearly see some NPCs popping into the frame while you're playing and some others not load properly, but it came out in 2014! It was designed on previous-gen consoles that ran on a Hard Drive and it was a game that was so rushed, Ubisoft never bothered to give it the love that it deserved. If there's one thing that still fascinates me about this game even today is the sheer number of NPCs that are rendered into this open world, it simply feels alive. By 2025, you'd think that most AAA game studios would have already gotten over these issues like NPCs popping into the frame and we would have Open World games that feel more alive than ever before. Nope, instead of huge number of NPCs, modern gaming companies are more focused on bringing Ray Tracing features which I have nothing against if it wasn't for having a such a small number of NPCs. I'm not an expert to determine what the exact reason behind having so few NPCs really is but I honestly would love if Ubisoft gave another shot at this kind of tech. Thankfully one of the games that looks like it will have this huge number of NPCs is Grand Theft Auto VI, by the screenshots and Trailers alone, it reminded me of how alive Unity really felt and I can't wait until that game comes out.

They were moving people. They were wearing people out. ... I thought they were mostly good in the pass game, but too inconsistent probably. ... Every player has plays they want back." via Baltimore Ravens
