It got my heart racing for sure- the airbag likely would have saved me, but the possibility of being killed was very real and scary at that speed. Doesn’t look so bad when it’s slowed down in the video…

Agree! To clarify, the highway portion is still V11, and extra caution with highway driving is needed. V12.5 should be an integrated stack.

I see what you’re saying now… I don’t think this was highway stack, but I can’t be sure. It’s the underground area in Chicago with traffic lights. It’s Lower Wacker Drive.

Documenting FSD is important to raise awareness of both the good & bad. I’m hopeful that Tesla will improve their correspondence w/ people on these matters, too.

That’s a key isssue with 12.3.6. It doesn’t plan for the next move sooner. Being a conservative driver I generally change lanes ahead of time to avoid kissing somebody’s butts changing lanes. My wife does the opposite. She goes all the way right to the exit and shamelessly (and selfishly) merges. FSD is yet to gain that preemptive planning for upcoming exits or change in direction. I would think this is on the “to correct” list. These items while minor are really tough so kudos 👍 to the AI team for working diligently on these 🙏

Forget UPL, it's the Devin's simple right hand turn that FSD needs to master first. I am blown away that software as good as FSD can make mistakes as simple but devastating as this. This is the second time in less than two weeks that FSD has tried to pull infront of a vehicle on a VERY SIMPLE right hand turn. The car drove pretty much flawlessly all day today (3~ hours of driving) but it ends the day with a move like this and it just takes all the confidence I have with FSD away in a simple move. I understand that the version of FSD we have today is not what will be used in Austin in June, but the fact that FSD is making decisions like this and 'full autonomy' is less than 3 months away - it's a bit concerning to me. FSD V14.1.7 | Near Accident This is without a doubt the closest I have come to getting into an accident in a long time. I think had I not taken over and slammed on the brakes we would not have slowed down in time. You can see that FSD does an incredible job reacting to the car (even before I noticed it) and was slowing down, but it was not slowing down enough to stop in time. As soon as I saw the car swerving to the right I worried she was going to bounce back into my lane so that is when I decided to go full on the brakes to stop the car. You can see prior to me taking over we were full regen braking (which is FSD reacting well) but it wasn't using any real brakes at all, and ABS was not active until I took over. Let me know what you all think in the comments. I still think FSD is incredible - the reality is if you watch the video the car saw and reacted to the situation before I did, it just didn't brake as agressively as it needed to in this situation. FSD + an attentive driver is without a doubt in my mind still safer than a normal human driver who is not using FSD.

WARNING: ⚠️ ‼️ Please be very careful with FSD Supervised v14.1 Lite (HW3) when you get it, particularly with going in reverse. It’s called Supervised for a reason. This raises a really good question. Does HW3 even have the ability to allow this to be improved? If not, I’m afraid Tesla will need to add some very bold and obvious disclaimers for people using FSD. Otherwise accidents will be inevitable.

Two reasons I disengage from Tesla FSD (HW4): 1.) I want FSD to take a diff route than suggested. Potential easy solution in the video: Just let me "draw" the route I wanna take. 2.) The full-stop at stop signs. I tap the accelerator when using FSD to do a rolling stop which is way more natural. The NHTSA made Tesla do the full-stop thing in 2022 and it's just annoying, especially when driving through a neighborhood with tons of stop signs. CRITICAL FSD disengagement at highway speed. Details: ~ car was extremely indecisive taking the exit ~ You can see right before I disengaged, the steering wheel was turning slightly left toward the barrier ~ also waited until the very last minute, cutting across 4 lanes to make the exit in under 10 seconds ~ I believe it was going to drive into the barrier ~ Mad Max mode ~ The car behind me was cut also about to collide due to this indecisiveness ~ FSD v14.3.4 on 2026.14.6.12 ~ Completely sunny day, sun was above not in frony (no glare) ~ All cameras were clean ~ Houston I am a very grateful and avid FSD user, but never in my 3 years of usage have I experienced such a critical disengagement. I made sure to mark it as critical in the menu. Also, the video clip doesn't really justify how much I had to swerve and avoid that barrier, also having to accelerate hard since the car behind me didn't expect that. Two police officers approached me in Yosemite today and told me I “cannot use FSD” because, according to them, there have been “many accidents” involving it. I highly doubt either of them has spent hundreds of hours using the latest version, bc this is what FSD v14.3.6 was doing for me… smoothly guiding my Cybertruck through Yosemite’s winding roads, slowing before sharp curves, staying centered in its lane and handling the entire drive while I enjoyed the scenery and ready to take over. I told them that I trust this technology to drive me more than I trust myself to manually drive. Of course no technology is accident-free… but the real question is how often accidents happen compared to normal human driving. And according to Tesla’s latest reported safety data, vehicles using FSD (Supervised) travel roughly 7x farther between major collisions than the U.S. average. FSD is still supervised, and the driver remains responsible at all times… but saying the technology is unsafe simply bc accidents have happened ignores the rate, the data and how quickly the system continues to improve. So I gave them both the middle finger and continued my trip on Tesla FSD.

FSD slams on the brakes for a cat in the road that doesn’t even exist. This is FSD 12.6.4 on HW3, which is a lot more sensitive to shadows & objects in the road with the 2026.8.6 update. There are many reports of brake stabbing. It brings me back to the days when I was testing with v10.3 of FSD back in 2021. It’s interesting that it’s the same FSD version as before, and not something like 12.6.4.1, but I guess Tesla can change the weights without changing the version. And they’ve likely been doing this for a while with 12.6.4. 😒

I’m going to share a remarkable moment. 🚨 A friend of mine was driving with FSD in the Netherlands on an 80 km/h road. It was a very dark road, and in the distance there was a drunk, disoriented man cycling on the roadway, which is not allowed. The driver didn’t see him. The Tesla did. The car detected the situation early and automatically steered around the cyclist to prevent an accident. This shows how advanced the technology is. Millions of miles of data make this possible. Thank you very much to Tesla and the RDW for allowing us to use FSD in the Netherlands. I have been using it since April 10 and have driven 3,500 kilometers without any problems. Sometimes there are small mistakes, like going straight at a roundabout when it should turn right, but hopefully these points will be resolved in the next update. Let’s hope for a wider rollout across the rest of Europe this summer. I enjoy it every day, and I also want to say how happy I am to be in early access with Tesla. People are so hung-up on FSD Unsupervised that they're ignorning the fact that we have self-driving cars today. Tesla FSD is not perfect - but it is incredibly good, and when you put it up against every other ADAS here in North America it is undeniably how far ahead Tesla is at the moment. I think it's fair to talk about the issues that exist today with FSD - but I also think there are some people who cannot take the time to appreciate what FSD is actually capable of... When I got my car two years ago I had no idea that the technology existed for a car to be able to stop itself at a stop sign - that is how unaware the general public is of FSD.

My Tesla drives me anywhere with the press of a button on the screen. So many people have no idea, but autonomy is here. If you have a Tesla, you don't need to drive if you don't want to. The data already proves that Tesla FSD is 8x safer than humans at driving. Eight cameras and the best real-world Al are watching the roads to keep you safe at all times. It can even predict human driver movements before you do, almost like it sees the future. It's so smart. Driving in the future will essentially just become a niche thing.

First drive done with FSD v12.6.4 on my AI3 Model 3 and it went great. Very similar behavior to Cybertruck actually. Zero disengagement, zero intervention drive on a very similar drive that I just did in CT. Went from Century City to the Santa Monica supercharger on the same route almost back to back with the two. They fixed the small issue with the turn signal coming on too early, as well as it now has earlier lane changes. Very similar to the Cybertruck drive I just did with v13.2.8. It even avoided a van that almost sideswiped me in a turn, smoothly and swiftly. AI3 is getting crazy good, such a smooth drive. You can really tell it wants to back into a parking spot, but can’t yet. It swings out and all you have to do is reverse into it. So far, really good update. Feels like a more polished v12.6.3 which was already very good. Great work Tesla AI team!
