CRITICAL FSD disengagement at highway speed. Details: ~ car was extremely indecisive taking the exit ~ You can see right before I disengaged, the steering wheel was turning slightly left toward the barrier ~ also waited until the very last minute, cutting across 4 lanes to make the exit...

FSD V14.1.7 | Near Accident This is without a doubt the closest I have come to getting into an accident in a long time. I think had I not taken over and slammed on the brakes we would not have slowed down in time. You can see that FSD does an incredible job reacting to the car (even before I noticed it) and was slowing down, but it was not slowing down enough to stop in time. As soon as I saw the car swerving to the right I worried she was going to bounce back into my lane so that is when I decided to go full on the brakes to stop the car. You can see prior to me taking over we were full regen braking (which is FSD reacting well) but it wasn't using any real brakes at all, and ABS was not active until I took over. Let me know what you all think in the comments. I still think FSD is incredible - the reality is if you watch the video the car saw and reacted to the situation before I did, it just didn't brake as agressively as it needed to in this situation. FSD + an attentive driver is without a doubt in my mind still safer than a normal human driver who is not using FSD.

I hesitate posting this for a bunch of reasons, but I think it's good to just be transparent about everything. I love to highlight all of the incredible things that FSD does, but I also think it's good to talk about any issues that it has currently. In my opinion the E2E on the highway needs some major changes. This clip was from my drive yesterday, and it is without a doubt the most dangerous situation that FSD has put me in. Yes, I am aware that it is FSD Supervised - everything that happens in the car is ultimately my responsbility. I just was wanting to see what the car would do, and I was hoping that it would make a better decision to be honest. Let me know what you think.

TESLA FSD WARNING: ‼️ I need Tesla’s attention on this. It’s an easy fix. Tesla FSD Subscription has a HUGE LOOPHOLE and to me, it’s very dangerous. My subscription was canceled, without my knowledge. I have no strikes - ever. My subscription was automated withdraw. I have money in the account. This was unexpected and the “expectation of having FSD” Is the danger. I found this issue out mid stop light turn. When I thought it was FSD Engaged but it was actually Autopilot. The TINY message pre-drive saying, “Your Autopilot settings have been reset” was not understood. I thought it was in reference to speed settings. It was not. If I had started my drive from my driveway this would have been obvious, but I wait until I’m out of my neighborhood at a speed of 45mph, before I cut it on. At this point it is was not an obvious difference between Auto Pilot and FSD. It BECAME OBVIOUS mid stoplight turn. Tesla needs to fix this. With FSD V14.3 and after, the car consistently moves into the right lanes 2.5 miles before your highway exit. As you can see below, the moment the car is under 2.5 miles from the exit, it turns on the blinker. I have been able to consistently repeat this. With previous versions of FSD, it would often wait until the last minute. No more anxiety from last second exit merging lol. (video sped up)

Unfortunately had a bad disengagement at this turn 169 miles into the trip. Turning left here, the steering wheel started jerking and I had to take over and back up to get out of the road. Couldn’t leave a note, but hopefully Tesla AI sees this one. I don’t know if it was a critical disengagement, but it certainly wasn’t smooth.

First (potential) safety critical disengagement that I've had in quite a while on 13.2.9. Watch first and then read, curious if others would make the same mistake FSD did. I was supervising and didn't even realize the mistake that FSD made until it was too late. Fortunately nothing happened but this could have been really bad, and I blame whoever setup the cones more than I do FSD. I ended up disengaging at the very end just because I realized we were on the other side of the road with no way to get back to the proper side so I took over and sped up to get out of the lane of oncoming traffic. Shoutout to Matthew Raistrick for making it easy to get this clip in full quality.

Found a FSD V14.2 limit the other night in some of the worst fog I’ve ever driven through at night, while it was raining. In the early part of the video, you can see me take over. I did this because the car was going about 50 mph, and I completely lost my bearings. It’s funny, because cameras def see better in fog than humans. Even this video doesn’t look as bad as it looked to me IRL. But I was totally uncomfortable, and took over because I really had no clue where the road was at the moment I disengaged. FSD didn’t quit here and might’ve been fine, but I’d prefer to see it go slower in these moments. I wasn’t confident that it understood how bad the fog was, and I wasn’t familiar with the area. When I attempt to re-engage, FSD quits immediately. I think this was because of rain (you can see cam visibility pop ups). People will say this is a vision problem, but it really just comes down to needing better context and adjusting speed in these conditions. Conditions this severe aren’t super common, and the brain probably doesn’t have a ton of exp here yet. Idk if I’ll ever find myself in a condition this bad again but if I do I hope to see FSD signal greater awareness.

So I just picked up my car and will be using FSD 13.2.8 for the first time. I figured it was as good of a time as any to actually track how many KMs before I had what I considered to be a critical disengagement. I would count this as something that had I not intervened it was more likely than not that I would have gotten into an accident. Top Tip Tom Told me that I should expect to go around 10,000 Miles (16,093KM) before such an event would take place. I didn't quite make it that far.

Please be careful and never let your guard down while using Tesla’s FSD. The terms are very clear when you turn it on: “FSD requires a fully attentive driver who is ready to take immediate action at all times.” You absolutely need to pay attention!! Even the latest version 12.3.6, which is very good, can be very dangerous. I was testing in Chicago on Lower Wacker Dr two weeks ago and FSD almost killed me. It was going to drive straight into a barrier at 22mph. It could have caused a serious accident. This happened not just once, but twice. Second time going 27mph. Since I haven’t been able to get any replies or feedback from the Autopilot team whenever I submit data like this, I’m tagging all of the relevant people. Sprinkle of Cybertruck FSD mishaps. FSD v14.2.1. FSD was getting ready to make a left turn. In fairness, I pushed the pedal as there still was time to make the turn before the oncoming car. However, I took the foot off and the truck came to a stop. Then when the turn was almost complete, FSD threw the red hands and the message said "Aborted with a system error." If you are wondering why I looked at the camera in between, I wanted to make sure it was recording the situation. I have hours of video footage I recorded while driving on FSD 14.2 and 14.2.1.

What I love most about this clip is that FSD understands what needs to happen and reacts BEFORE the lead car even throws it in reverse. This is such a critical indicator that FSD isn’t just reacting to objects in its path, but actually understands what happens next before it even needs to start backing up to clear the dodge ram. Yesterday, Tesla Inside and myself took a ride with FSD in Eindhoven! 🚗💨 I was super excited to finally experience it firsthand, I’ve been waiting for it for so long.. The most impressive moment? FSD spotted a car parked halfway on the road. The car checked the blind spot just like a human driver, waited for a safe gap, and maneuvered around it smoothly. Zero stress, pure intelligence! 🤖 It was also very cool to feel how the Tesla reacted to a pedestrian still further away that was going to cross the street, and also check out how the Tesla reacted to bikers that were crossing the street. Amazing! V14.2.1 highway regression vs 14.1. In standard mode, FSD makes a maneuver into the left lane to pass a semi truck. Because they have jailed the speed limits of non mad max profiles, FSD cannot use acceleration to make this pass. So it ends up camping the left lane. In my right side view mirror, you can see someone coming up on my ass, and FSD is not getting back over. It’s also not speeding up to pass the semi because it is in speed jail. I had to scroll mad max to get through the maneuver. Def a regression from 14.1.

FSD Supervised in Europe: First video of our experiences yesterday when driving with a Tesla that used FSD Supervised. Driving in Tilburg, The Netherlands. In this video you see that the Tesla takes a left turn into a narrow street. Very typical streetsize in The Netherlands and many other European countries. There’s a delivery truck standing on the road in a not so convenient way. I am extremely impressed that the Tesla decided to pass it but also how it did it. In these specific situations you so feel that the car looks all around (360 view) all the time and drives based on all that input. FSD can see and hear emergency vehicles before you can. Guaranteed! I was cruising along the road when my Tesla suddenly veered right all the way to the shoulder. I thought, “What the hell is going on?” I looked in my left mirror and saw the ambulance 🚑 far behind me. FSD 14.3.3 for the win 🏆

Tesla FSD 13.2.9 drove me to the Americana at Brand, and the highway driving was like poetry (starting at 3:02). I was also very impressed with how it was able to drive through the mall parking lot on its own (starting at 11:00).

King took to Instagram to share initial footage of her half-burnt Acura NSX which was parked at the side of the highway near Southwoods. The car always gets to the left when it can as cars merge onto the highway. Way faster reactions to speed changes and way sooner. There was a broken down car blocking the right lane, and FSD shifted left before I even noticed it. I hated how closely V13 followed cars in fast moving, dense traffic.
