Please do not fall for clickbait (see below). The German Defence Minister's statement was heavily shortened and taken out of context. Pistorius never said there is nothing left in the stockpiles that can be provided to #Ukraine. He merely pointed out that he and the current German Foreign Minister,...

As mentioned, I watched the opening remarks of today's Meeting of the UDCG. There were some interesting points mentioned, which I summarized for you. ➡️ The €170 million Germany will provide for air defence ammunition will most likely be used for “critical air defence missiles” (per statement of the British Minister of Defence) ➡️ Per statement by the German Minister of Defence, it sounds like the details of the Patriot deliveries/procurements etc. are to be worked out in the coming days ➡️ Next to the participation of Norway (likely funded Patriot missiles from Bundeswehr stocks) and Belgium (€140 million in funding and the provision of an A400M for transporting US-made equipment to Ukraine), Denmark and Sweden also already joined the German Enduring Action on Air Defence initiative ➡️ According to Pistorius, there are already indications that Germany can significantly top last year's success, which would mean provide a lot more than €1 billion worth of air defence related equipment ➡️ Germany will provide 220,000 rounds of Gepard ammunition to Ukraine at short notice (most likely refers to the 226,000 rounds of HEI-T ammunition which are already contracted — more precisely we are talking about already ongoing deliveries scheduled to last at least until the end of 2026) ➡️ Pistorius once again confirmed what was already officially confirmed some days ago, that Germany is financing the production of Ukrainian-made long-range OWA UAVs ➡️ The first systems (AN-196 Liutyi long-range OWA UAVs) financed by Germany are to be handed over to the AFU in the coming days ➡️ Additional investments and a close technical cooperation between the German and Ukrainian defence industries are planned (we know that Germany will also finance interceptor drones etc.)

After Russia proved once again last night how pointless diplomatic initiatives on our part (currently) are, I thought we could take another look at the current state of air defence deliveries from Germany. DELIVERED — 6 IRIS-T SLM fire units — 12 IRIS-T SLS launchers — 3 MIM-104 Patriot fire units — 4 MIM-104 Patriot launchers — 1 S-300PMU fire unit — 60 Gepard/Cheetah SPAAGs — 2 Skynex air defence systems — 16 Kinetic Defence Vehicles — 3,200 MANPADS — 800+ anti-drone systems, jammers etc. — 16 TRML-4D air surveillance radars — 658+ IRIS-T & IRIS-T SL missiles — 358 MIM-104 Patriot missiles — ? AIM-9L/I-1 Sidewinder missiles — ? RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missiles — ~ 334,000 rounds for Gepard/Cheetah SPAAGs — ? AHEAD ammunition for Skynex PLEDGES SECURED FOR 2025 — 4 IRIS-T SLM fire units — 6 IRIS-T SLS launchers — 2 Skynex air defence systems — 2 Cheetah SPAAGs — ? IRIS-T & IRIS-T SL missiles — ? Gepard/Cheetah SPAAG ammunition — ? AHEAD ammunition for Skynex OTHER PLEDGES (2025–?) — 6 IRIS-T SLM fire units — 14 IRIS-T SLS launchers — 2 MIM-104 Patriot launchers — 5 Cheetah SPAAGs — ? FIM-92 Stinger MANPADS — 120 Igla MANPADS — 30+ anti-drone systems, jammers etc. — 300+ IRIS-T & IRIS-T SL missiles — 226,000 HEI-T rounds for Gepard/Cheetah SPAAGs In addition to the supplied and contracted air defence systems, ammunition and other equipment, Germany also leads the CC IAMD. The Capability Coalition Integrated Air and Missile Defense coordinates the establishment of modern and effective Ukrainian air defence forces in accordance with NATO standards. And finally, the IAAD initiative. Through the Immediate Action on Air Defense initiative — similar to the Czech ammunition initiative — Germany has secured funds and military equipment worth around €1 billion for Ukraine. Partly delivered, partly bound in contracts, which will be fulfilled this year or in the coming years. It was also recently stated that it is planned to restart the initiative to get more donations for Ukraine.

Lavrov threatens Europe and Keith Kellogg over the project of a new European defence union with Ukraine. He said: “He [Kellogg] is now actively promoting the idea that a new military alliance should be created, and that Ukraine should not be brought into NATO, because, as they say, this has already been rejected both by President Trump and other members of his administration. And Kellogg, being also not a stranger in Washington, together with the European ‘grandees’, as they are called, is promoting the idea of creating a new military bloc with Ukraine as a member, and even not just a member, but as its leading participant […]” - Lavrov said. Lavrov is threatening Europe over militarisation and trying to drive a wedge between the White House and Europe. Moscow is very concerned by the fact that Ukraine is indeed being considered as a potential member of a European defense union. This was stated by Defence Commissioner Andrius Kubilius. Andrius Kubilius said that the European Commission is discussing an intergovernmental treaty to form a defence union and prepare the EU for independent defence, against the backdrop of the United States increasingly focusing on the Indo-Pacific region. The treaty is intended to strengthen the European Union’s role in defending Europe, while avoiding the recurring debate that defence is not an EU competence, but rather belongs to individual member states. The Commissioner also called for the creation of a new “real European defence union” involving the United Kingdom, Norway, and Ukraine. For this purpose, he suggested concluding a separate intergovernmental defence treaty, which could be modelled on the Schengen Agreement. The initiative to create a defence union involves not only legal formalisation, but also increased defence spending, expansion of production capacities, and stronger coordination between EU countries and close partners such as Ukraine, the UK, and Norway, which are expected to become members of the union. At the same time, defence policy would remain within the national competence of member states. 📹 CGTN

Norway and Germany have agreed on a joint project to supply air defense systems to Ukraine. As soon as there is confirmation from the United States that they will let Germany replace the Patriot system, then it can be sent to Ukraine, with Norway participating in the funding of the Patriot System. Ukraine is so thankful to all Allies who help us protect our skies from Russia. Thank you, Germany! 🇩🇪🇺🇦 Thank you, Norway! 🇳🇴🇺🇦 Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of Norway: Norway has provided the NASAM system to Ukraine... What Germany is now doing is sending a clear signal that Germany is ready to contribute Patriot system, but I can fully understand the Chancellor to need a message back from the US that they can have a replacement. ... And then when this comes in order, and I hope it will happen soon, Norway is ready to split that bill. We are ready to make a very significant contribution, because it's the nearest operative solution that we can contribute, and we can do that with a partner who we know and who we trust, and that's why we have made that reservation in our budget to be able to do it very swiftly. Chancellor Merz: The Defense Ministers are currently negotiating a general commitment from the US government to hand over the Patriot systems to us, to Germany, and to the European Union, and that we will then deliver the existing Patriot systems to Ukraine. So, we will deliver and we will get a replacement. But this replacement has not yet been achieved.

🇩🇪‼️🚨 GERMAN GOVERNMENT COLLAPSED BECAUSE OF UKRAINE! -> Scholz is now ruling Germany with a minority in the parliament! Germany ran out of money to support Ukraine and is legally prevented to make more debt, that caused a clash within the government and it collapsed! (There were more problems, but that “straw broke the camels back”.) -> There is a “debt break” law, that prevents the German government to take on debt beyond an allowed sum, which Germany exhaust already. 1) According to chancellor Scholz, not being able to finance Ukraine or decrease financing of social spending to free money for Ukraine is an extraordinarily emergency situation that threatens Germany. So Scholz demanded from the finance minister to suspend the law and allow the take on more debt to pay for and send to Ukraine. The plan was to just make more debt for Ukraine. 2) But the finance minister refused to do that, since that would breach the oath of he gave to Germany as a finance minister. Essentially Ukraine collapse is of course is not threatening Germany, just Scholz and his government personally. 3) Scholz fired the finance minister Lindner for not obeying his wish. 4) The party of the finance minister FDP, in reaction retracted from the ruling government! The ruling government consisted out of 3 parties: SPD (Scholz’s party), the Green Party and the FDP. This is needed to form a majority in the parliament. But now one of these parties retracted from the coalition, hence the German government is now ruling with minority. 5) Scholz said “we have no time”, because he wants to finance Ukraine quickly before elections. So he is appointing new ministers for the now empty positions of the withdrawn FDP party. -> Technically (and legally) that is extremely questionable, since the government officially has no majority. So how is making critical decisions? Looks like Scholz wants to push through the Ukraine funding no matter what. 6) The opposition demands new elections quickly, but Scholz wants to govern with the support of the opposition for now. It is a clown show. For now the elections are rumored to come in March 2025. -> The “collective west” collapses on the back of Ukraine. USA Is lucky and likely steps back from this nonsense with Trump. Democracy apparently works without a majority as well.
