We will go in a few hours to the doctor to have my daughter Rafif examined, and despite the difficult conditions in Khan Younis, we will go to check on her. Our lives are constantly in danger, and even when we go to receive medical treatment, our lives are at risk at any moment. 🙏 Keep Rafif in your hearts and prayers. When I returned from the mosque and Rafif saw me… she remembered that I had left her for a while, so she didn’t come straight into my arms, but started walking beside me. After a few moments, it seemed she forgave me, and for a brief moment, she wanted to come close and sit in my arms. To me, Rafif is life… she is the future. I do everything I can for her, to provide her with everything she needs. Please keep Rafif in your prayers… she is your daughter too. These were our moments today.

Rafif broke the medicine bottle so she wouldn’t have to take it. Every time she gets sick, giving her medicine becomes a painful struggle— she simply cannot accept it. Today, Rafif broke the medicine bottle, and I was forced to go back to the same place I went to yesterday to find a replacement. When I watched the video, my eyes filled with tears… Rafif misses me, and she misses my presence. I will never forget her look, nor her eyes in the final moments of the video. Viruses are spreading everywhere, the environment has become unsafe, and even the air we breathe is filled with the smoke and residue of constant bombardment. A doctor has initially diagnosed Rafif with a viral infection, possibly affecting her throat or chickenpox, and we are praying for her recovery. Rafif, along with hundreds of children here, is being denied the most basic rights: access to medical care, safety, and a healthy, normal childhood. Please keep my daughter Rafif in your prayers. Yesterday, Rafif, my wife, and I went out together. The entire outing was for Rafif — so she could regain her health, her smile, and her strength to overcome everything she’s going through. I realized that every time Rafif steps out of the small room we live in — a room that feels like a trapped prison — she breathes life again. Our life here in Khan Younis barely allows us to move except within very limited areas, yet those simple moments together, sitting around a small table in a tiny place, were unforgettable for our little family, despite everything happening here in Gaza. That short outing brought so much positivity… Rafif’s spirit improved, and my wife and I could see it clearly in her beautiful eyes. And you, dear friends… we will never forget your kindness, your prayers, and your continuous support. We love sharing every moment we go through with you. Update on Laura: She is going home from the hospital today but is suffering from aphasia. Laura’s intelligence, memory and personality are intact, but she has a very hard time speaking and writing. On 20/5 we were forced to leave for Al-Mawasi… and since that day, Rafif has not been the same. Her spirit has changed, her body has weakened, and illness took over. She eats so little, surviving only on her mother’s milk and some light food when we manage to find it.
