Now when, out of complete necessity due to the lack of funding, The Sameer Project is forced to stop our water distributions, it will become unimaginable for the families who depend on us. The Sameer Project is doing the work we do with a clear aim: the liberation of Palestine. Our decisions with aid distributions are made with that aim in mind, support: Water is life and without water, certain areas in the Gaza are unlivable. So with the drop in donations, the Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x Sameer Project decided to focus our water campaign to the areas in the far North like Jabalia and Beit Lahia, as well as Tuffah and Zaytoun daily. This will encourage the residents of those areas to come back and for those already there to stay. Our water campaign is an integral part of our work at the Sameer Project. From June 2024 till today, not a day has passed without us distributing water. We would like to increase our water distributions even more but for that we need your help. Our water distributions decreased from 300,000 liters across the Gaza Strip to around 200,000 liters per day, donate: The lack of funds means we are having to constantly reduce our distributions. Lowering our distributions is not aligned with a decrease in need. On the contrary, the need in Gaza today is huge in terms of food, water, medical support, tents and more. We ran out of words to describe how horrible things are in Gaza. From food to water to shelter, the needs are endless. Donate here: The Sameer Project team provided this boy with rice meals and he walked us to his tent to show us the horrible conditions they live in. Tents today cost $400 and that’s not accessible to people at all. Your donations help us provide new sturdy tents that fit 5-7 people. This is much needed especially with temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius. For weeks now, The Sameer Project has been working on building a new desalination plant to provide a new source of clean water for Palestinians in Gaza. This will help us save money and have a new source of fresh water. This project is costing us around $200,000 but we will be able to provide 250,000 to 300,000 liters per day for a maximum of $2,000 - instead of the current $4,500 we pay for the same amount. The Sameer Project’s water desalination plant in the North is complete. During our pause in distributions and operations we went through testing of the plant and the quality of water produced. And we are ready!! Ready to produce new and more volume of water in the North. We will distribute this water ourselves AND give it out for free to organization who have capacity to deliver it to areas in need. Now we need continues funding to keep it operation: that includes fuel for the generator, maintenance, staffing of the plant - with your help this plant will basically pay for itself after a few months of operating and saved costs. Thanks to your incredible support we’ve been able to do water distributions in Central Gaza for over a month now. We average at 16,000 liters per day and on some days we do 24,000 liters. Support: With the high temperatures in August we are looking to increase the amount in the central area and keep it consistently at 24,000 liters per day. This will support people in Gaza with the high temperatures and extreme dehydration. For that we need your support to provide more water, a lifeline for thousands of people. Music classes have to stop 💔😭 Look at their smiles and faces filled with joy in their music therapy classes. One of our favorite videos comes from the music classes with Jaber and his team but sadly we will have to stop them! Help: The lack of donations are forcing us to cut down on our work, and this will include the five camps that were receiving weekly music classes, including the three camps run by The Sameer Project. We find music therapy essential and not a luxury but just like we had to reduce water by 50%, we had to cut down on our activities.
