Lightning test net has been able to achieve 40 MILLION transactions per second. I use Lightning frequently, and I don’t recall having had issues with it in a few years now.

People in the future will know who they transact the most with, therefore they will open channels with each other and that's how the network grows and thanks to this payment goes through even if you don't have direct channel I have my small network around me and it works 🤌

Lightning is a mostly custodial network, if you can accept that then it works OK. Layers 2s are the answer still but not as we currently have them, look into drivechains if you want the real answer.
