After yesterday’s catastrophe at Fairway Hotel, I decided to visit the premises today and witness the situation for myself. To my surprise, I found the hotel operating normally, just as it always has been. There is no visible sign of flooding or water damage, which speaks volumes about the efficiency and seriousness of the hotel’s management. It is unbelievable that a place which was flooded yesterday could return to full operation within just a matter of hours. Christoper Nolan famously prefers practical effects over CGI (somehow, “Oppenheimer” has no CGI). He took the approach to the next level in “Interstellar”. Instead of digitally recreating a corn field, Nolan spent $100,000 to plant one and sold it for a profit afterwards. Why practical effects? Nolan digitally enhances his shots but prefers working on location and with cameras. “It’s more fun for me and the actors,” he said of his approach during an interview with the BBC. “There’s nothing more dispiriting than showing up to a green screen. The magic is not there.” For the “Interstellar” cornfield, the most difficult part was finding a location to plant 500 acres of the crop. The script called for farm land near a mountain (not a ton of those around). Nolan tapped Zack Snyder for advice because the director had filmed a cornfield in “Superman”. The final location: a plot of land outside of Calgary, Alberta. The intention was never to grow the corn for sale, just to get some awesome shots. But Nolan later said “we got a pretty good crop and made some money on it.”

⚠️ Caution to Mokila HMDA Plot Bidders ⚠️ Upcoming Mokila HMDA auction is on 29th June & 30th June and I visited the site today, and here are my thoughts. The HMDA layout is shaping up very well. The development quality looks good, and the internal roads and overall planning appear to be done to a decent standard. However, the current approach roads are a major concern. • The approach road from Mokila Main Road / Waterford Villas side is decent initially, but remember it is only a 30 ft road, and nearly 1 km towards the end is still a kacha road. • The Kollur approach road is currently in a pathetic condition. • The third access road, which was probably operational earlier via the Aparna venture side, is now closed. Though the brochure mentions 3 HMDA planned approach roads, none of them are actually under progress or visibly planned on ground as of now. Personally, I would not recommend bidding beyond ₹65,000 per sq yard at the current stage. There are other options like Gachibowli County and JB Ventures plots directly on the RR7 Extension Road in the ₹55K–₹60K range, with much better connectivity and just 10–12 minutes from the Kollur exit. It doesn’t make much sense to invest ₹70K–₹80K+ without a proper and dependable approach road.

Anyone new can step in and buy the Orb at any time and become the new Keeper 6. In the meantime, current Keeper can adjust the sales price up or down 7. But if no one buys it and the funds aren't topped up, they will eventually run out of funds 8. Keeper can at any time start a "Keeper auction" in which they are the main beneficiary of the auction proceeds 9. If they run out of funds, a Keeper auction is automatically triggered for them 10. After a Keeper auction finalizes, the Orb has a new Keeper (or if there are 0 bids, Orb goes back to the creator!) 11. After handling sales stuff in the morning, Frank and I huddled up with the Out & About crew and walked to Burlington. Highlights from the trip: ◦Joey and Frank interactions had me howling ◦Joey & Pat’s vernacular intersecting with Frank’s ◦Frank had full trust in Joey’s choices and fashion taste and it paid off ◦Joey and Pat trying on several dresses while Frank watched with fascination ◦The fashion show back in the office after we shopped, which nearly made gia (taylor’s version) and Kelly Keegs cry from wholesomeness. NHS nightmare update: After three days, my wife still hadn't received an ultrasound or an appointment for one, despite suspected deep vein thrombosis (DVT). She runs out of blood-thinner injections in a few days, but we were just told wasn't considered "Urgent" by the Radiology department, and hasn't been referred DVT clinic, despite the risk to her and the babies. We were told on Monday and Tuesday to expect a call from Scans that day, and to call back if we hadn't heard anything. We call back today, and the below is what we got before being passed onto the switchboard. (Excuse my disheveled appearance.) After being passed between departments, we called Maternity Triage again, and a kind English woman answered the phone, listened to everything that happened, and said she would call us back with news within half an hour. Five minutes later, she called back with a scan appointment for tomorrow morning, and immediate follow-up with Maternity. Couldn't have been more helpful. Hopefully we get to the bottom of this tomorrow, and she gets prescribed the treatment she needs to keep her and the girls safe. In the meantime, my Nan has been taken into hospital and kept overnight for complications related to her chronic blood cancer. It's treatable, but not curable, and by all accounts she's being well attended to. A stressful time for the Tomlinsons. Thanks for all your prayers and support.
