I think instead of increasing the number of MPs, women reservation should be given from existing numbers. MPs have have better reach and communication facilities than in 1950. Also, we have three layered governance structure in place. Then no need to increase burden.

With estimated polpulation of 140 crores, the increased strength of MPs (850) would see a representation of approx 16.5 lakh persons per MP. How can a poor MP manage this? A more practical representation will be one MP per 1000 persons. A bigger parliament building is desired.
