Seattle police have arrested a suspect in the murder of a University of Washington student. Juniper Blessing, a 19-year-old student and transgender woman, was found dead with stab wounds in a laundry room at the Nordheim Court Apartments – off-campus housing for UW students – Sunday night. The arrest came hours after the Seattle Police Department (SPD) released photos of a suspect on Wednesday, described as armed and dangerous. SPD confirmed to KOMO News that the man in the photos is the same man who was arrested. According to Seattle police Det. Brian Pritchard, the 31-year-old man — later identified as Christopher Leahy — turned himself in to Bellevue police before being transferred to SPD detectives. On June 8, two individuals in black bloc attire were taken into custody for vandalizing the property with spray paint around 11 pm, leaving behind hateful anti-ICE messaging. Portland Police has identified the Antifa suspects as Jessy Edwards, 30, and Jason Ross, 28. Both were arrested on first-degree criminal mischief charges. Additionally, Portland Antifa militant Amanda Siebe, 40, who is wheelchair bound but a main agitator, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for assault. Siebe was booked into jail for assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct, and harassment. Portland Police also snatched Darnell Canfield, 41, over a 2024 incident involving an attack on the Portland Police Bureau North Precinct.
