On Sept 17, 2024, during a special committee on national defense and the conflict in Ukraine. Major General Gregory Smith was asked on three separate occasions when CAF members would be resupplied with weapons in case they were called to take arms against the Russian boogeyman. However, it appears the Major General's time spent in University classrooms has resulted in hearing loss because he kept repeating the Trudeau Government's narrative about the great job and expediency Canada has been doing getting weapons into the hands of Ukrainian soldiers.

There was a scene when daring protesters were seen chanting and marching towards the police telling them that they are hungry. #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria There's heavy military reinforcements deployed along the road leading to the Presidential Villa, also known as Aso Rock. On the bridge leading into the Three Arms Zone, the military have blocked the entire road with barbed wire. What we're hearing is they're being stopped in traffic stops or on the street with no cause and being demanded to show paperwork to determine if they are here legally. This is about 40 minutes after DC Metro and Capitol Police launched their first assaults on the crowd gathered on Capitol grounds. Police improperly used "non-lethal" munitions including stun grenades, rubber bullets, pepper balls, and tear gas on peacefully assembled protesters, which enraged the crowd. Hodges and other DC Metro officers arrived in head-to-toe riot gear ready for a fight. Listen to the reaction from Trump supporters who had already witnessed one fatality and several injuries at the hands of police. Some called them "storm troopers" and "traitors." It is necessary to understand the widespread use of excessive (and unnecessary) force by police officers that afternoon that in many cases led to physical clashes between cops and protesters.

The Metropolitan Police and Greater Manchester Police have already stated that they would make arrests against those chanting this because of the threat to Jewish communities. Indeed, according to our representative polling, 95% of British Jews consider the phrase ‘Globalise the Intifada’ to be a call for violence against Jewish people. But what about areas outside of London and Manchester? Do these words suddenly take on a different meaning as soon as you leave these areas? Does the threat magically vanish? What say you, West Yorkshire Police? Will you take action against those calling to “globalise the Intifada”?

As PM Modi made his first direct comment on the NEET Exam leak, I've been at Jantar Mantar on the ground for the last several hours. At the very entry, after a night of heightened tensions and violence at Tolstoy Marg, we see additional CRPF Deployment, Water Canons, Tear Gas Cannisters & Riot Police Vans at the protest site as well. Hopefully this is all strictly precautionary. Protesters though are distinctly angry about why security is being fortified. Those at the site are adamant about the demand for Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation. The CRPF did not create this crisis and I feel sad that they have been put in the firing line for a situation that can only be resolved politically. Protesters insist that those responsible for violence against cops are not from their movement . I truly hope a dialogue begins soon to de-escalate as protests have now spread to multiple cities. 🇵🇸 Pro-Palestine protesters block Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway waving Palestinian flags. They held a sign which read: “Sorry to disturb, we will be done in 4 minutes” Such a Canadian thing to say: Protesting, and apologizing for it. On a serious note though, this seems like a smarter way to protest, rather than gluing yourself on the street. It’s a balance between bringing attention to a cause, creating content that can go viral, and not harming others who are trying to go about their day. Thoughts?

Today, police shot dead four Kenyans protesting the fuel price hike. Murkomen held a press conference this evening and spoke at length about the loss of property, with only a brief mention of the loss of lives. In Kenya, human life appears to have no value. Protests happen all over the world, some of them violent yet police in other countries routinely use non-lethal means to contain them. The police have no business using live bullets against unarmed citizens except in truly exceptional circumstances. Murkomen also claims politicians incited the looting and violence during today’s protests. However, just as in the past two years, these allegations will likely not be investigated, and no one will be arrested or prosecuted. Blaming public anger on a few politicians is an insult to Kenyans’ intelligence. The cost of living has skyrocketed, and many can barely afford three square meals a day, while Murkomen wears million-shilling suits and a Rolex Yacht-Master 37 Rose Gold watch worth KSh 4 million. They are stealing from us, flaunting the stolen money through lavish weddings, parties, helicopters, and expensive vehicles, then turning around to ask Kenyans why they are angry. This government lacks sense, direction, and integrity. With 449 days to go, we will send this regime packing and hold accountable those who stole from us and killed unarmed citizens.
