Police are on the hunt for more CIT Robbery suspects following yesterday’s shootout in Laudium, west of Pretoria. Six suspects were shot dead and one was arrested on the “Military Road.” Police seized two vehicles (one hijacked) and four firearms and ammunition. The gang has been linked to a CIT robbery in nearby Atteridgeville last week and they were planning to rob another cash van. They were intercepted en-route to a safehouse at Mahpral Heights in Himalaya Street Laudium. A heavy shootout ensued with police. The possibly that the gang could be involved in others crimes is under investigation. More arrests are expected. Multiple police units and private security were involved in the breakthrough. Gauteng Deputy Police Commissioner, General Fred Kekana, told eNCA on the scene that police will continue to act decisively when they come under attack. #CrimeWatch

Farmers report that police have threatened to also kidnap the sisters and daughters of Punjab's protestors to marry them off. Police have been joined by suspicious individuals in civilian clothing that are also equipped with police weapons. Haryana Police have also kidnapped and abused elderly farmers in Punjab, crossing the border to break legs and carry farmers off in jute bags, farm leaders and witnesses share. This comes at the same time one farmer was shot and killed by the police. Farm unions are calling on Punjab's government to do more to stop cross border aggression. The farmers are holding at the borders between Punjab and Haryana, on their way to demonstrate in Delhi. The Haryana government is under BJP control, and has placed barriers to stop protestors and unleashed police brutality to attack farmers. #FarmersProtest2024
