Polkadot Outpaces Ton And Avalanche on Decentralization Metric Polkadot (Polkadot) currently has the highest Nakamoto Coefficient among several major networks tracked by public Chainspect data. Its coefficient stands at 168, while Ton Network (TON 💎) follows with 82 and Avalanche (Avalanche🔺) with 25. The Nakamoto Coefficient estimates how many independent entities would need to coordinate to compromise a network. A higher figure generally indicates that control is spread across a larger group of independent operators. However, the metric only captures one aspect of blockchain decentralization and does not provide a complete security assessment.

1 in every 200 $DOT tokens are now held in just one ETF. According to data form SoSoValue, 21shares spot Polkadot ETF already holds 0.52% of $DOT's current supply. Launched just 2-3 months ago in March 2026, $TDOT is the only spot Polkadot ETF product in the US market, charging an annual fee of 0.30%. The product has an AUM of more than $11 million BUT what is even more impressive is that the product has grown to hold a serious portion of token supply with very limited and rare inflows. For context, the product has seen inflows on just three days so far. If the crypto markets pick up, and altcoins along with it, 21Shares Polkadot product could be about to shake things up dramatically.

ETHEREUM DESTROYS COMPETITION WITH 897,000 VALIDATORS According to data from Chainspect, the Ethereum network boasts more than 897,000 validators, distributed across the globe. This dramatically outpaces practically all other blockchain networks, the biggest of which typically have just a few thousand validators. Both Algorand and Cardano Foundation rank highly in the list but lag well behind $ETH itself. At the same time, however, Ethereum's dominance of DeFi TVL and stablecoin supply has been eroded slightly.

POLKADOT'S 2026 IS LOOKING GOOD Polkadot's $DOT has had a genuinely eventful start to 2026, and the catalysts are structural rather than speculative. Three developments stand out... (1) FIRST-EVER US SPOT ETF: 21Shares launched the first US spot Polkadot ETF on March 6, 2026, trading on Nasdaq under the ticker $TDOT, seeded with $11 million and carrying a 0.3% management fee. (2) HARD SUPPLY CAP: A tokenomics upgrade in March 2026 introduced a hard cap on DOT issuance, giving the token a max supply of 2.1 billion. (3) POLKADOT HUB IS LIVE: Polkadot Hub, the network's unified L1 application platform, is now live, simplifying dApp development by integrating core functionalities across system chains and supporting both EVM and the new RISC-V-based PVM. Despite a 90%+ price decline from its 2021 peak, Polkadot is still very much alive and kicking. The price hasn't caught up yet. The question is whether it will.

Cardano cracks the top four for staking decentralization Cardano Community now ranks fourth among major blockchains by Nakamoto coefficient, the metric for how many independent entities it would take to disrupt a network. Live data from tracker Chainspect puts its score at 23, behind only Polkadot at 178, TON at 72, and Avalanche at 26. The jump traces to the Plomin hard fork, which handed network governance to cardano:native holders directly. A higher coefficient means stake is spread across more hands, making coordinated control harder. The coefficient measures stake concentration, not decentralization in full, and the figure shifts by tracker and by day.
