During their audience at the Vatican, the Pope encouraged Catholics and Anglicans to continue the path of dialogue and unity, acknowledging that new challenges have made full communion more difficult. He warned that it would be a “scandal” not only to fail in the common mission of making Christ known, but also to stop working to overcome divisions, “no matter how intractable they may appear.”
