Hackers may have stolen the government ID photos of around 70,000 Discord users, the company said Wednesday evening. Discord chat app can require users to prove they are adults which may require them to upload their govt ID cards, including driver's licenses & passports. This, while the Australian government is pressing for age verification for children which could involve all Australians being caught up in the overly bureaucratic monitoring processes. Will our data be safe? We could avoid all of this by supporting parents to make their own decisions about when and how their children access social media instead of letting the government make parenting decisions for them.

Travelers going through airport security checkpoints without a REAL ID or passport will face a $45 fee starting Feb. 1, the Transportation Security Administration announced Monday. The fee is part of the agency’s next phase of the REAL ID implementation process and will require individuals to verify their identity through a biometric or biographic system if they don’t have a compliant form of identification. The agency says around 94% of travelers are already using a REAL ID or another acceptable form of ID. The announcement follows a proposed rule published in the Federal Register last month, but the agency increased the fee from its previously proposed amount of $18.

Mainly started this project because there’s no app I can reliably use without it crashing or too much $ for a simple data backup, plus I need something like this for iOS data recovery situations when customers come in with iOS device for data transfer but FMI on and they cannot remember the login. So this way I can backup data FAST and have multiple ways to transfer the backup files, (Air drop wired or wireless, iCloud, etc) Also, main focus for this app will be elegant UI and high reliability and speed for backups.

Mainly started this project because there’s no app I can reliably use without it crashing or too much $ for a simple data backup, plus I need something like this for iOS data recovery situations when customers come in with iOS device for data transfer but FMI on and they cannot remember the login. So this way I can backup data FAST and have multiple ways to transfer the backup files, (Air drop wired or wireless, iCloud, etc) Also, main focus for this app will be elegant UI and high reliability and speed for backups.

Another weekend project: GridStore Jean Cavallera and I are building simple but useful dApps that make LUKSO more accessible and easier to use. This is GridStore, an “app store” for Grid templates. You can choose a template you like and, with a single transaction, upload it to your Universal Profile and use it as your Grid. This is made possible by LSP28 The Grid, where the configurations of your Grid are stored in a JSON file on IPFS. The value stored under your ⁩LSP28TheGrid⁨ data key stored on your Universal Profile points to your grid configuration JSON file. By adding the value of a grid template you like under the ⁩LSP28TheGriddata key, you can set immediately that template on your Grid and start customizing it, saving you time.
