Isabelle Adjani on why working with Andrzej Żuławski in 'Possession' (1981) was very tough: "'Possession' (1981) is only the type of film you can do when you are young. He is a director that makes you sink into his world of darkness and his demons. It is okay when you are young, because you are excited to go there. His movies are very special, but they totally focus on women, as if they are lilies. It was quite an amazing film to do, but I got bruised, inside out. It was exciting to do. It was no bones broken, but it was like, “How or why did I do that?” I don’t think any other actress ever did two films with him." (Isabelle Adjani's interview with Liza Foreman, The Playlist, 2016) P.S: On this day, 45 years ago, "Possession" (1981) was released in France.

RIP Sam Neill (1947-2026) I Just heard the news of Sam Neill's passing. He was an exceptionally gifted & versatile actor who starred in many great movies. His acting in "Possession" (1981) alongside Isabelle Adjani will always remain one of the greatest horror performances of all time. I can't think of any other actor who could have pulled off this mad movie convincingly; especially with Żuławski at the helm. "Possession" was also his personal favourite among his works.
