Really shocking testimony, even by the standards of the Post Office. They appear to have been making it up as they went along in a ethics-free zone as they thoughtlessly processed sub-postmasters and postmistresses through the courts and into bankruptcy and prison.

Martin Smith clearly admitting in this interview: a) acting in an area which he knew he wasn't sufficiently qualified for, b) failing to act in line with prosecutorial code, c) failing to consider conflicts of interest, d) failing to report evidence of a likely crime to police 1/

Sam Stein KC cross-examining Pauula Vennells will be interesting.

As Cartwright King Solicitors usually acted for the defence rather than prosecution they'd be only too aware of the rules on disclosure,regardless of which they should be anyway. So acting for the prosecution doesn't explain their failure to disclose.

Unbelievable that Cartwright King Solicitors and individual employees haven't yet been suspended by the SRA.
