Power changes what’s possible on the lunar surface. Our Power Tower is a 20-meter-tall, vertically deployed solar array system designed to provide more than 10 kilowatts of power for Moon Base operations at the lunar South Pole. Its modular architecture will support future surface networks, extending power beyond the...

Just don't land a 50m Starship right next to it and block it's sunlight! ;)

Blue origin has a lot of concepts and animations.

Clever! Unwinding a stored coil of flat pre-stressed metal, which snaps into a spiral-formed cylinder, as the central elevation strut of the Power Tower? Reminds me of the wood fired portable tent stoves, which have collapsible chimneys formed by a flat strip of metal.

10,000 watts (and a huge machine) is nothing when you're trying to heat and cool a habitat that sits at -200c to +82c. For reference, the space station generates 120,000watts with their solar array. I'd figure those neat little reactors would make a lot more sense, no?

Still waiting for BO to put anything onto the moon. Been lots of talk for years. They can barely fly their main rocket.

This is a really smart idea. Building the Moon’s power infrastructure separately from the landers seems like the way to do it.

Now make it mobile with a massive battery pack as the base.

Intrigued by that telescoping tower mechanism. What have you done there? Looks very innovative

You should have just used the redwire ROSA array, this methodology has way too many fail points.

Love this modular architecture. Extending power beyond the lander changes the whole game for lunar operations. Operating in the extreme cold at the South Pole is tough, so this test results will be highly beneficial and a great reference for upcoming Japanese surface rovers too. Exciting times for international collaboration!

A 20 meter tower. Over 10 kilowatts of power. Designed for the lunar base at the South Pole. Sounds like engineering. But behind every modular design are teams that test, fix, and test again. The tech gets the headline. The team makes it work.

Will the stars really be visible from the lunar south pole?

Cool. And make sure that landing and launches happen in a safe distance - or on a built pad, so regolithkic-up doesn't happen.

Cool concept, but looks a lot of mass in those solar panels, they should be like the ones on the IS where they unfurl.

A 20-meter Power Tower aimed at more than 10 kW for South Pole Moon Base ops. Modular solar that stands tall is how a dark pole stays lit for work.

I wonder, have you included wireless charging stations on the lander for autonoumous robots & rovers to continue surface operations during lunar nights which will be critical for US ? We're well behind China with only one @NASA lunar mission by December end in 2026. 😔 Griffin-1

The deployment mechanism is the part I'd want the CAD files for. Vertical deployment means every hinge and joint has to work perfectly on the first try, no repair crew on standby. Specs matter, especially when the Moon is the customer.

20 m Power Tower claiming >10 kW at the lunar South Pole is an energy architecture, not a render. Scoreboard is first Blue Moon Mark 1 night that runs on that stack without a diesel-class backup — what's the public kWh/sol target for Endurance?
