On behalf of the Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, under whose leadership I serve, I had the privilege of joining the management of Metro Mass Transit in Egypt for the final inspection of three hundred (300) ISUZU buses slated for delivery to Ghana. This important undertaking reflects the Minister’s clear vision and policy direction to strengthen Ghana’s public transport system through strategic investment in modern, reliable, and efficient mass transit. The arrival of these buses will significantly expand fleet capacity, improve service coverage, reduce long waiting times, and enhance safety and comfort for commuters. In practical terms, this intervention will ease the daily burden on workers, students, and traders, help decongest our roads, lower overall transport costs, and contribute to a more orderly and environmentally responsible urban transport system. I am sincerely grateful to Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe for the trust and confidence placed in me to carry out this assignment. His guidance and leadership continue to drive the Ministry’s efforts toward delivering practical solutions that directly impact the lives of citizens. The Ministry of Transport remains firmly committed to implementing its mandate with purpose and accountability, ensuring that initiatives such as this translate into real benefits for the Ghanaian people and advance the Better Ghana Agenda through a resilient, inclusive, and efficient national transport network. #jomoromp #deputytransportminister #jomoroanyelazo

The 7th SADC Industrial Week kicked off in Harare today, the African Development Bank Head of mission in Zimbabwe told the truth that we always say on this page. Moono Mupotola said Zimbabwe is the sick man of the region as she explained how Mozambique’s railway investment is let down by Zimbabwe’s rotten railway system! Our country remains the laughing stock of the region due to Mnangagwa’s corrupt regime that is central to the looting of public funds and plunder of the country’s natural resources! We have a president who has been globally sanctioned for corruption, and is at the heart of the criminal syndicates that are looting the money meant for railway building. It is clear that Zimbabwe's outdated railway system is hindering the country's ability to capitalise on potential economic opportunities, such as the proposed tripartite rail project between Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Botswana that Moono Mupotola was talking about. In order for Zimbabwe to become a more active and prosperous member of the regional community, it is important for the government to address corruption! The president simply needs to stop his corruption network from looting the country’s treasury, he has bled the country dry! Until Mnangagwa understands this, corruption will remain a significant obstacle to Zimbabwe’s progress. Many African leaders that I have spoken to are fed up of how Mnangagwa’s corrupt rule has taken Zimbabwe and the region backwards!

Mahalaxmi to Get India's First Travellator-Equipped Skywalk Linking Monorail, Metro 3 and Suburban Railway MMRDA has completed approximately 90% of the Mahalaxmi Multimodal Connectivity Project, a landmark initiative that will seamlessly connect Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk Monorail Station, Metro Line 3 and Mahalaxmi Suburban Railway Station through India's first travellator-equipped skywalk, making travel across Mumbai faster, safer and more convenient. Once operational, the integrated interchange will reduce transfer time by approximately 20 minutes, improve access to the Mumbai Monorail from South Mumbai and Worli, and encourage greater use of public transport through seamless multimodal connectivity. Project Highlights: • Approximately 283-metre-long integrated pedestrian bridge • 11-metre-wide structure for smooth passenger movement • Six travellators with a combined length of 176 metres • Two passenger lifts for universal accessibility • Capacity to accommodate approximately 4,500 passengers every hour Built in one of Mumbai's most utility-congested corridors, the project reflects MMRDA's engineering expertise. A 1,800 mm diameter storm water drain was safely relocated before foundation works began, while adjacent water supply and sewer pipelines remained undisturbed, ensuring uninterrupted civic services throughout construction. The project was also executed without felling a single tree, with traffic managed in close coordination with the Traffic Police and the annual Ganesh Visarjan processions along Sane Guruji Marg continuing without disruption. More than a pedestrian bridge, this is another step towards a truly integrated public transport ecosystem where Metro, Monorail and suburban rail work together as one seamless network for Mumbai.
