Ahead of Kenya's Cabinet considering & approving the Sovereign Wealth & Infrastructure Funds today, we asked National Treasury CS why we are yet to see a Draft Bill for the Infrastructure Fund yet we have seen & even been invited to give comments on the Draft Sovereign Wealth Fund Bill. He says the government is working on modalities of setting the Infrastructure Fund without having to precede the same with a Bill. I am surprised by GOK going this route, considering the indicated enormity of this Fund. Possibly an amendment to the Privatisation Act '25 providing for the Fund? He says the plan is for proceeds of privatisation to be split between the Sovereign Wealth Fund & the National Infrastructure Fund in a 90:10 or 80:20 ratio starting 2026

He says we should be seeing a Bill taken to the National Assembly anchoring its establishment. You don't have to like the things that he says all the time. That is why in my filter, Trump is always words versus deeds. I don't have to like what he says. In fact, I can hate what he says but I can also think in his brain, he is going, I don't like him. He can't let that go. We don't have to like it. Just look at the deeds.

A man in Lawndale opened his property tax bill and found it had nearly doubled. Almost $1,000 more for the same house. The same block. The same broken sidewalk. Then he learned his tax dollars didn't even go to his neighborhood. They were diverted into a TIF district to fund projects he never voted for. We need to cap property taxes at 1%. And end the TIF scam so tax dollars stay in our communities.
