The election was coming up and he knew that the American people did not approve with his open border policies. Democrats know that most Americans support securing our borders and enforcing our immigration laws. That's why they incite riots instead of arguing for the laws to be changed. Even Kamala promised during her campaign in 2024 to enforce the immigration laws that are on the books if she won. She obviously didn't mean it, but that's what she said because that's what people want to hear.
