STOP SUBSIDISING FOREIGN CORPORATIONS TO GENERATE RENEWABLE ENERGY It’s been annouced that the Federal Government will give Rio Tinto $2.4 bil to save Tamago smelter. Add that to $2 billion for Boyne smelter, $2.4 billion for Whyalla smelter & $240 million to other smelter operators. The owners of these smelters are predominantly foreign owned. Manufacturing is vital to our success as a nation but not if it has to rely on billions of dollars of subsidies from taxpayers in order to prop up predominantly foreign owned renewable energy corporations. The best way to make manufacturing profitable in Australia is to build base load power stations that will provide cheap reliable energy 24 hours a day without taxpayer handouts. That will lower energy costs for all Australians and Australian businesses not just foreign corporations. Payroll tax also needs to be abolished. People First is the only party that has a policy to fund the construction of wealth generating Infrastructure through the creation of an Infrastructure Bank. We will also fund the abolition of payroll tax by removing the CGT exemption on foreigners who own shares and charge them stamp duty. The lies and subsidy being pushed by Chris Bowen and the Labor party in regard to renewable energy has to stop. To help us lower your taxes and put the Australian people first please sign up today at ••••••••••••• “A bailout of the country's largest aluminium smelter will cost taxpayers $2.5 billion dollars, with the New South Wales and federal governments expected to split the bill down the middle. Late last year mining giant Rio Tinto warned the Tomago Aluminium plant could be forced to close when its energy supply contract ran out in 2028, due to the rising cost of renewable and coal-fired power. The joint investment will deliver a long-term renewable energy solution for the Tomago Aluminium smelter.”

In Australia, under proposed national standards, new data centres must bring their own 100% renewable energy supply, firmed by batteries or gas. Crucially, this means new, additional renewable generation, not simply claiming certificates against generation already on the grid. And the scale is enormous. AEMO is already tracking 225 data centres in development, with data-centre electricity demand forecast to rise from around 3% of NEM consumption today to 13% by 2036, potentially around 34 TWh a year. Climate Change & Energy Minister Chris Bowen puts the challenge bluntly: “Data centres are huge consumers of electricity. They are whales.” In 2024, US data centres consumed as much electricity as the entire country of Sweden. Australia wants to get ahead of this. Australia isn't alone. Similar policy moves are underway in China, Germany and Ireland, but Australia's proposed framework is among the most aggressive: 100% renewable energy, tied to new additional generation and backed by firming, with the new rules intended to begin from 2027. Instead of allowing this enormous new load to compete with households and businesses for existing generation, Australia wants it to help finance the new supply needed to meet it. AI growth → electricity demand → renewable PPAs → new solar & wind → more batteries & transmission → stronger grid. This has always been part of my thesis: AI will become a major new demand engine for Australia's solar, wind and battery buildout, rather than a brake on the energy transition, potentially creating a blueprint the rest of the world can replicate. AI and renewables don't have to compete. Done right, each can accelerate the other. #SWB #Bettrification

Unfortunately, Democrats have a supermajority in the Maryland General Assembly. Their acquiescence to radical environmentalism and organizations such as the Sierra Club will cause energy prices to explode next month. This isn't a partisan talking point, and their letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is simply performative and shifts blame as per usual. Over the years, Maryland has passed legislation such as the Climate Solutions Act of 2022 and participated in superfluous Green Energy Initiatives such as the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) at the expense of ratepayers. These actions pose a unique threat to our grid reliability that other PJM states are not exposed to. Marylanders are exposed to this unique threat and face 73% higher capacity fees because we have a higher rate of power plants going offline. FERC has already made corrections to PJM's Market Capacity Auction. Therefore, state lawmakers are to meet PJM halfway and now provide pathways to hold our weight in the regional electric grid. Solutions to Address Our Energy Crisis: ~Repeal the Climate Solutions Act of 2022 ~End Our Participation in RGGI ~Offer financial incentives to power plants. ~Reduce bureaucratic hurdles for power plants to come online. ~Thoroughly study the energy impact of data centers and find optimization mechanisms to lower energy use. This cannot be done without ousting the Green Energy Zealots who are in the General Assembly and are completely acquiescent to the Sierra Club. It is time to vote them out of office, pass legislation to address our energy crisis, and bring down the cost for ratepayers.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele(Taiwo Oyedele), at the launch of YouthCred for Entrepreneurs, said the initiative represents a major step in the Tinubu administration's vision of building a credit-driven economy that expands access to finance, empowers young entrepreneurs, and creates pathways to inclusive economic growth through responsible Consumer Credit. More Details: - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu established CREDICORP with the mandate of expanding access to consumer credit to half of all working Nigerians by 2030. - The initiative is aimed at building a credit economy where responsible borrowing and good credit history create opportunities for economic mobility. - The YouthCred programme was introduced as the largest consumer credit initiative designed specifically for young Nigerians. - Phase One, targeting NYSC members, provided credit education to over 51,000 young Nigerians, with more than 30,000 progressing to responsible credit access. - Phase Two, targeted at employed young Nigerians, has already reached more than 81,000 beneficiaries. - The Federal Government has now launched Phase Three – YouthCred for Entrepreneurs, with a target of empowering 500,000 young entrepreneurs nationwide. - The programme recognises that over 90% of Nigeria's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are micro-enterprises operated by individuals such as tailors, mechanics, farmers, content creators, caterers, artisans, fashion designers, and ride-hailing drivers. - Eligible Nigerians aged 18 to 35 years can access financing ranging from ₦200,000 to ₦2 million. - Loan eligibility is based on responsible credit behaviour, cash flow, and repayment capacity, rather than inherited wealth or traditional collateral requirements. - Financing will be delivered through regulated financial institutions, while beneficiaries will also receive support to formalise and scale their businesses. - The programme complements broader economic reforms, including the exemption of small companies from Company Income Tax, as well as the removal of VAT compliance and withholding tax burdens for small businesses since January 2026.
