🚨 “We Have Crooked Elections.” - President Trump on the SAVE America Act Our reporter Cara Castronuova asked President Donald J. Trump: “Why do you think Senate Democrats are resisting the SAVE Act? And what is your strategy and realistic pathway to getting the SAVE Act passed to ensure free and fair elections for the next generation?” POTUS responded: “It’s such a great question. I appreciate it, actually, because it’s called the SAVE America Act.” “The Democrats are against it… we’re trying to save America.” He then laid out what he called “three very simple points” in the bill: • “Voter ID, photo ID.” • “Confirmation of U.S. citizenship. You have to be a citizen to have a vote.” • “No mail-in ballots… with the exception of disability, illness, military, or if you’re traveling, you can get an exemption.” And he closed with this: “That will assure the security of our crooked elections. We have crooked elections.” The House has acted. Now all eyes are on the Senate to get this to President Donald J. Trump's desk and secure our elections.

Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said "no one has any faith" in what President Trump might say on Thursday during his primetime address to the nation, saying the president "particularly lied about the elections in 2020." "As long as he keeps appointing sycophants to the agencies in charge of the intelligence, no one has any faith or trust in what he's going to say," he told reporters Thursday at the Capitol. Sources tell CBS News that President Trump's primetime speech Thursday is expected to touch on previously unreported alleged Chinese meddling in U.S. elections.

HOLY COW! President Trump just CANCELLED the ROAD to Housing Act signing! This is a piece of legislation the Senate worked to pass, instead of the SAVE America Act. President Trump doubled down & said election security is a “National Emergency.” This comes just hours before he will attend the Senate GOP lunch at the Capitol. Pressure is mounting from the House NOT to support any piece of legislation coming out of the Senate until the SAVE America Act is passed. It appears President Trump feels the same way. We are not a free nation without fair elections!

President Donald Trump, when asked Tuesday about the possibility of federal agents at polling places during the November midterm elections, told PBS News’ Liz Landers (Liz Landers) that he supports "anything" to ensure "honest elections." Federal law bars the deployment of “troops or armed men” at polling stations and prohibits voter intimidation. The Department of Homeland Security told state officials earlier this year that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will not be present at voting locations during the midterm elections. Yet other Trump administration officials have not unequivocally knocked down the idea. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said earlier this month that he was “not sure of the uproar of the risk of having a Border Patrol or an ICE agent at a polling location, or looking into whether somebody is voting that shouldn't be.” Federal law prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections; some municipalities allow them to vote in local elections.

President Donald Trump will speak Thursday night from the White House, where he is expected to make new claims about foreign interference in the 2020 presidential election. The speech marks an escalation of his years-long effort to relitigate the election he lost. His repeated false claims about the 2020 vote have been rejected by courts, election officials and independent assessments, which found no evidence of widespread fraud. Geoff Bennett sat down with Liz Landers for more.

President Donald Trump called the Supreme Court's emergency order on mail-in voting "a great ruling for the Republican Party" on Thursday. The court's ruling earlier this week allows the Trump administration to proceed with an executive order that directs the U.S. Postal Service to determine which voters should receive mail-in ballots. The executive order also directs the Department of Homeland Security to build a database of U.S. citizens who are eligible voters. PBS News White House correspondent Liz Landers (Liz Landers) asked the president about what the ruling means for states like North Carolina, where mail-in ballots are due to be sent out next week. "North Carolina is great. It's a great place. I won it all three times. They do some mail-in ballots, but basically they ruled on the legitimacy and the way we want to make them legitimate," Trump said. "It was a great ruling for the Republican Party." Despite his criticism of – and false claims about – mail-in voting, Trump has cast votes by mail several times in Florida elections.

American elections should be for American citizens only. This isn't rocket science. The House has passed the SAVE Act twice to require proof of citizenship before casting a ballot in federal elections. Illegal aliens should NEVER influence our elections. The Senate must pass the SAVE Act and get this to the President’s desk!
