This achievement, fought for at various levels, paves the way for the start of negotiations next week. These are truly historic moments. Ukraine is and will always be part of a united Europe. Congratulations also to Moldova, the Moldovan people, and President Sandu, as the EU's negotiating framework for Moldova has also been approved today. President of Moldova Maia Sandu addressed the nation today: Our sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and European future are in danger. The Kremlin is pouring hundreds of millions of euros into buying hundreds of thousands of votes on both banks of the Dniester and abroad. People are being poisoned every day with lies. Hundreds of people are being paid to provoke unrest, violence and the spread of fear. I address every citizen: we must not allow our country to be handed over to foreign interests. If Russia establishes control over Moldova, this will have immediate and dangerous consequences for our country and the entire region. Every Moldovan will be harmed, regardless of whom they voted for. Europe will stop at our border. European funds will stop at the Prut River. Freedom of movement may disappear. Our land may become a staging ground for infiltration into Odesa Oblast. There will be destabilization in the Transnistrian region. These are their goals and they speak openly about this. Russia is not acting alone. The Kremlin has accomplices in Moldova, people who, from time to time, show they are ready to sell their country for money. They have no homeland; they have only masters. They do not believe in Russia. They do not believe in Europe. They believe only in money. They want a weak Moldova, with a corrupt justice system that will shield them from responsibility for corruption and treason. We lived through the time when those who are now buying votes were in power. Let us remember how much damage they did to our Moldova and how we fought to remove them from power. After so many sacrifices, after so much hardship endured by so many generations, we do not have the right to hand the country again to the corrupt and the traitors. The Kremlin thinks that we can all be bought; that we are too few and cannot resist; that we are not a country but just territory. But Moldova is our home. Our home is not for sale. It stands on the dignity of our people, you are the bulwark of peace and the protectors of our children’s future.

Thank you for exposing how corrupt these elections are! Today’s Moldova elections are a sham to fake democracy. Maia Sandu’s banned nearly all opposition parties, while her corrupt judicial system keeps her in power. At the same time 80% of the media is funded by Soros, NATO, the eu and prior USAID. This way there is a fake and self created consensus that Moldova is pro-Europe. Moldova shouldn’t have to choose between being a slave to Moscow or to Brussels. Moldova has the right to be sovereign!

We're counting on support from Ukraine and developing our own air surveillance and air defense. Russian war goes beyond Ukraine and becoming dangerous for all of us. Russia wants to threaten and scare people. Russia is the only country to be blamed. Russia is the aggressor. I don’t believe Putin wants to sign peace agreement. Russia can be forced to sign one only when its economic situation is bad enough. For that, sanctions should continue.

We value this visit on such a meaningful day, when we remember the Chornobyl disaster and the colossal solidarity and selflessness of our people, which made it possible to protect our country and our entire region, all of Europe and the world from an even greater radiation catastrophe. Today, Maia and I focused primarily on issues of security, our cross-border cooperation, the protection and development of infrastructure and energy, and we also had a very substantive discussion on our shared path toward the European Union. We are now working to ensure that all six clusters are opened as soon as possible and that EU membership becomes our shared success – for Ukraine, Moldova, and the entire European Union. Ukraine will continue to support Moldova on security issues – in particular with regard to the Transnistrian region. We are also ready to further develop our trilateral formats together with Romania. I personally thank Maia and all of Moldova for supporting Ukraine and for cooperation that strengthens our entire region.
