It's crazy that San Francisco has fewer kids per capita than any major city in the country. We can and should change that. Let's make this the best city in the country to raise a family. A few simple steps can get us there.

Food 'bloggers' have flooded our timelines. There are many Kolkata based food 'bloggers' on mine. Every new or old restaurant they go to, they always love the food. There isn’t a single restaurant they seem to dislike. Recently, a 'blogger' went to a new restaurant that has opened near my place in Kolkata. I know the food there largely sucks, but this particular food 'blogger' went raving about it. The culture of blogging began as a critique of the mainstream, not as a PR exercise, so it is a shame that these content creators are being referred to as bloggers. Indian mainstream media is like that, only much worse. The food bloggers are at worst guilty of exaggerating how good a plate of momos is. The mainstream media will claim that a plate of veg momos is far superior to chili garlic prawns, and that those who prefer chili garlic prawns are enemies of Chinese cuisine. They will insist that veg momos were the original, the authentic, the true essence of Chinese food, and by the end of it, you will almost believe them, and start hating everyone who prefers chili garlic prawns.

Creating a government and a nation that works for all is not utopian. We are the richest country in the history of the world – and it belongs to all of us. We can and must create a world that works for everyone, not just the billionaires.

What is a good way to encourage members of a minority group to simply leave the country? Let them be abused, just for who they are, as they enjoy a simple pleasure in life. See a Jewish restaurant in London tonight. "Resist by any and all means necessary!" This is not... 1/8

Got any fingers left? There's so much (too much) to juggle. You need a system to keep those fingers in the air and the anxiety out of your brain. The Fanclub Method is more than a class. It's tailor-made to tackle the problems we take on every day. Link in bio 💋

TokenFlow: Consistent Diffusion Features for Consistent Video Editing paper page: The generative AI revolution has recently expanded to videos. Nevertheless, current state-of-the-art video models are still lagging behind image models in terms of visual quality and user control over the generated content. In this work, we present a framework that harnesses the power of a text-to-image diffusion model for the task of text-driven video editing. Specifically, given a source video and a target text-prompt, our method generates a high-quality video that adheres to the target text, while preserving the spatial layout and motion of the input video. Our method is based on a key observation that consistency in the edited video can be obtained by enforcing consistency in the diffusion feature space. We achieve this by explicitly propagating diffusion features based on inter-frame correspondences, readily available in the model. Thus, our framework does not require any training or fine-tuning, and can work in conjunction with any off-the-shelf text-to-image editing method. We demonstrate state-of-the-art editing results on a variety of real-world videos.

"A nuclear crisis is not something where the president can pick up the phone and say, Vladimir, cut it out... that's not how any of this works," Tom Nichols says in discussing the film 'A House of Dynamite' with Sonny Bunch. "In the real world... things have consequences."

I found a plugin to build programmatic SEO sites in WordPress using the block editor! This method is MUCH more "programmatic". It's also 100x faster than WP All Import. Here's a video explaining the plugin + how it works (plugin link in the thread):

Daniel Day-Lewis says most people talking about method acting have no idea what they're talking about "all the recent commentary the last few years about method acting is invariably from people that have little or no understanding of what it actually involves" "it's almost if it's like some specious science that we're involved or a cult or something" "it's just a way of freeing yourself so that the spontaneity when you are working with your colleagues in front of the camera that you are free to respond" he just called the whole method acting debate fake and somehow made it sound completely calm

Kenneth Smith will be the first human being in the United States put to death using nitrogen gas, a method that is not based on any scientific evidence. Alabama should stop Smith’s execution and scrap the death penalty completely.

In the military, t-shirts are often folded using a method called the "Ranger roll", which is a compact and efficient way to pack clothes. This is how it's performed.

Wild scene inside a Denver restaurant. A masked woman erupts in a loud confrontation and repeatedly demands police be called, while diners film and staff try to calm the situation. Officers were eventually contacted, and witnesses say the restaurant comped meals after the disruption. Situations like this seem to be happening more often in public spaces. Thoughts? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

Sarang Shidore: Global South middle powers are ALL looking to DIVERSIFY away from the US🇺🇸 'India, like a Global South country, has to be careful even as it tries to create alternatives and maintains its non-US partnerships, because the US is still the most powerful player in the world. We are not quite in a stage where unipolarity is past behind us and we are in a completely new era. We are in this transition period, and in the transition period you can get significant damage from a relationship with the US that is not good. So I think India, like many Global South countries, tries to have the best of both worlds. In the short term, maintains that connection with the US, maintains the investment in the relationship with the US.' -Sarang Shidore, Director of the Global South Program at the Quincy Institute, on the latest episode of New Order.
