Prices are up on everything and it's coming from three directions at once. Tariffs, energy shock, and what I call the vicious circle of recession expectations. People look forward, see pain coming, and start saving instead of spending. Less consumption. Slower economy. Which creates more fear. Which creates less...

Victor Davis Hanson: Experts Were Wrong. The Economy’s Strong—But the Fed Won’t Budge. At the start of August, the economic numbers tell a surprisingly strong story despite every prediction to the contrary. GDP is up, inflation is holding steady, unemployment remains low, and for the first time in years, the federal government actually ran a surplus in June. So why are media outlets still talking down the economy? And why is Chairman of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell refusing to cut interest rates, despite earlier recession warnings that never materialized? Victor Davis Hanson breaks it all down on today’s episode of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.” “Remember that The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, and our main media organs all told us in May when Donald Trump was talking about art of the deal tariffs, … we were going to have high inflation, stagflation, bad job growth, static GDP, and a trade war along with a Wall Street collapse, basically a recession. Well, wall Street stock prices are at historical highs. Every one of those predictions was wrong. “If [Powell] is worried about a trade war, and tariffs and soft job growth, which was predictive but didn't happen, why don't you lower interest rates? And the fact is that if you look at the interest rates that he did cut right before the 2024 election and his all over the map, attitude toward interest rates today, there is no logic because if he's worried that the economy inflation might— it's gone up one 10th of an point and it's steaming and then he's going to what? Keep interest rates that high?” 👉Don’t miss out on Victor’s latest videos by subscribing to The Daily Signal today. 🚨IF THIS HAPPENS, MONDAY COULD BE A BLOODBATH And most people aren't ready for it. Two straits. 25% of the world's oil supply runs through them. This isn't a temporary supply disruption it's a structural break in the energy system the entire global economy was built on top of. And oil keeps pumping every time the U.S. and Iran trade blows. It's already ripped above $100 a barrel. Just sit with that number. Here's what rising oil actually does. It doesn't just raise gas prices. It raises the cost of making, shipping, and growing everything. Every product manufactured, packaged, and delivered has an energy cost baked in. When oil moves, all of it moves quietly, with a lag until it all lands in the same inflation print at once. And that print kills whatever rate-cut hope was still alive. The Fed was already hiking into a slowing economy. Now they're hiking into a supply shock with no end date. That combination has a name. It was last seen in the 1970s, and it ended careers, governments, and decades of prosperity: STAGFLATION. High inflation, stagnant growth, a central bank with no good options only two bad ones. Cut, and inflation explodes into a broken energy market. Hike, and you crush an economy already buckling. There's no third choice. No policy tool built for two blocked straits at once. Now stack everything already broken on top: → AI bubble deflating → Strategy selling Bitcoin at a loss → Japan dumping Treasuries → MSTR down 81% → SpaceX unlocks hitting in weeks → The S&P held up by eight stocks that are already cracking Every one of those was a problem before oil moved. Rising energy makes all of them worse at the same time - margins compress, earnings miss, and valuations sitting at 100-year extremes have zero room to absorb it. Stocks, bonds, crypto, real estate everything priced for a soft landing reprices for the exact opposite. Oil doesn't need to hit $150 to break things. It just needs to stay high long enough for the math to catch up to the prices. This sounds scary, but I'll keep you updated here. When I rotate money, I'll post every move. Many will regret not following sooner.

.Breitbart News’s Nick Nick Gilbertson: “Do you think Democrats are genuine in their focus on affordability, especially after they delivered 40 year high inflation last time they were in power? And then — or do you think they’re using it or focusing on it as a means to try and win midterms and begin the impeachment process?” President Trump: “Yeah. The second. Look, the Democrats had the highest inflation in the history of our country 48 years, they say — but the history of our country. They had the highest inflation that we’ve ever had. When I inherited it, I inherited very high prices. And from day one, they said affordability. Affordability is a word because they’re good at that. They’re good at words. But I’m good at words too. But they hit me with affordability. I’d just gotten there. They hit me with eggs. We had a news conference on my third day and they said, egg prices are through the roof. I said, I just got here, tell me about eggs. And we got the prices down, way down, actually lower than it was four years before. But we’ve gotten everything. The thing that we have now — the only thing that’s really of great concern, two things. Beef is coming down. And the reason is they put restrictions on beef under the Biden administration, and it takes a while to settle that. But prices are down. But the big thing is, of course, energy. We had the energy way down, but I had to do a journey to Iran. I had to say, you know, we just hit the best markets. By the way, the stock market today is at the highest it’s ever been. And we’ve had 59 of them. 59 days out of a very short period of time where the stock market hit all time highs. So, we have an all time high stock market. We have all time high job numbers. We have 401(k)s just hit the highest number they’ve ever been. So many of you have 401(k)s. That means you’re richer than you’ve ever been. And we’re doing really well. But they — they came up with this word affordability. But it’s them that caused the problem. And they use that word — Senator, Senator, they use that word right from the beginning. I was in one day and I heard somebody on television say affordability, and I inherited this mess from them. But we’ve got it in great shape. The country is doing well. We’re respected all over the world. This country is respected. The hottest country. We’re a dead country two years ago and now we’re the hottest country anywhere in the world. So, I think most of you appreciate that. Some of you don’t.”

David Friedberg Explains the Hidden Collapse Beneath Record Stock Prices 🔥🪙 “Instead of trading it in US dollars, what if you just look at the US stock market, the total value, in ounces of gold?” “The stock market's up in dollar-denominated terms, but if you look at the stock market relative to gold, it's actually down.” “In a democracy, like we have for the past 250 years, without adequate constitutional constraints, it has always been the case that over time government spending goes up.” “And this is because in a democracy, people ask for their government to do more every year, and as they ask for their government to do more every year, the government agents who are elected say, ‘Okay, here you go,’ and they spend more.” “And eventually, when the borrowing capacity gets unlocked, which is what happened in the United States when we went off the gold standard, you borrow like crazy, you print money to fund those borrowing costs, but eventually the bill comes due.” “And in the United States, the bill is coming due.” “But I just want to tie it back to Minnesota, Donald Trump, and socialism.” “I think it's important for us to just highlight that if you own assets like we do, the four of us, we own stocks, we own real estate, we own other assets.” “As the dollar devalues and everything inflates in value, our asset prices go up and we get wealthier, and wealthier, and wealthier.” “The majority of Americans do not own assets. They are net asset negative.” “As a result, they live off of income and they do not benefit from the de-dollarization like asset holders do.” “And I fundamentally believe that much of the civil unrest and ultimately the divide in this country is driven by the fact that de-dollarization, because of excess government spending, ultimately leads a majority of people in this country to feeling oppressed and left behind because they're seeing a few people in the country accelerate their net worth, like all of us here, and there's no way for them to catch up because they don't actually own assets.”

CBS's Margaret Brennan offers deep thoughts at 405am, almost shouting at the camera mocking the American people for believing Donald Trump and his team that a president can do anything to lower the price of basic necessities at the grocery store or gas pump She then went onto mock Americans for not knowing to her level what the Federal Reserve does... Brennan: “[A]ny country I have ever covered, anywhere in the world, people vote on the three feet in front of them and the kitchen table they sit down at every day and the economic issues are just so fundamental, and the experience of that, and, you know, Norah, you said earlier, maybe we overly focused on grocery prices, it’s — I think you know, Donald Trump campaigned saying he’s going to lower the price of bacon, United States. The president of the United States has nothing to do with the price of bacon, but —” Dickerson: “Or eggs for that matter.” Brennan: “— or eggs or any of it, but it — it — it’s promising —” Dickerson: “Or gas.” Brennan: “— I get that you are comfortable —” Dickerson: “Yeah.” Brennan: “— even though the head of the federal reserve and those guys quite know what they are doing in Washington but they’re making your house more expensive, because they are hiking up mortgage — you know, you don't get that, you don't get the national number, where Joe Biden is telling you, look, inflation is moderating and coming down, but you understand your grocery cart or the gas tank and that personal experience just seems to be what, at least people are using to justify their vote for Donald Trump when they are citing the economy.”
