422nd Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion "LUFTWAFFE" have now demonstrated the destruction of a second Russian "Volna Kupol Garant" electronic warfare system designed to disrupt Starlink communications. According to Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov, adviser to Ukraine's Minister of Defense on defense technology, the system works by transmitting powerful interference towards individual Starlink satellites, preventing them from receiving signals from user terminals on the ground. Its main limitation is that each complex can effectively suppress only a single satellite at a time, providing coverage of roughly 20 square kilometers. To achieve this, the "Volna Kupol Garant" employs multiple large satellite antennas mounted on trailers and consumes significant amounts of electrical power. Developed by the Simferopol-based company "Russian Dome", the system was reportedly sold to the Russian military for approximately $1.5 million per unit. After over two weeks of untiring efforts, our engineers, technicians and staff of the rescue team have safely rescued all 41 people trapped inside an under-construction Silkyara-Barkot tunnel at Uttarkashi. Concerned with the safety and security of people trapped inside, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji was personally monitoring this rescue operation which was one of the trickiest and difficult ones. But our rescuers overcame all stupendous challenges and ensured a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. But the moment we stepped into the room, the nervousness dissolved. It felt less like meeting more like meeting someone we had known all our whole lives. That is Modi ji’s nature. Whoever he meets, he makes them feel seen, valued, and special. He joked with me about my constant travels, “Your legs never stay at home”, and in that light-heartedness, the distance between Prime Minister and us vanished. In that meeting, we spoke of ground-level work, of responsibility, of the importance of inspiring others to build. His energy was ceaseless, so much so that when we left, it lingered with us, impossible to describe, but impossible to forget. I count myself fortunate, as does my family, to have met him and to have received not just his blessings, but his infectious energy, an energy that continues to inspire me to this day.
