🤔 Fun fact: The version we hear on the album is actually a live recording! It was captured at the First Avenue club in Minneapolis in 1983. Prince was so nervous about the crowd's reaction to this new sound that after playing the original 13-minute version, he asked his band: "Do you think it's too country?". He almost scrapped it for fear it wasn't "rock" enough! 🎤 Did you know? 🤯

One night in '86, shortly after the brightness of the sun had settled and the gray skies had turned pitch black, the whiteness of the clouds released a purple rain. The Universe claimed it needed to be done.

There might've been another two occasions in my lifetime where I witnessed purple rain if I could recall but I can't recall.
