Prof. John Mearsheimer: There is no question that China and Russia have benefited from this war. They would be crazy not to help the Iranians. The United States is a mortal enemy to both. They're giving the Iranians weaponry and intelligence, which is very important for waging the war. If you're China and you're worrying about the United States pivoting to Asia to contain you, what you want is the United States bogged down in a war in the Middle East — using up precious weaponry fighting Iran that it doesn't have to use against China.

Chinese think tank analyst Victor Gao, in an interview with Channel 4 News, said that China is fully prepared to fight to the very end "because the world is big enough that the United States is not the totality of the market in the world." The host noted that if the US shuts itself out of the China market, China will lose 15% in trade, to which Gao responded: "We don't care. China has been here for 5,000 years. Most of the time, there was no United States, and we survived. And if the United States wants to bully China, we will deal with the situation without the United States.
