We are constantly learning from other people. I am learning from you through the questions you are asking, and you are learning from me. All day long, we are learning from one another. AI also has to learn from something. The original AI models, whether they were open or closed, were trained on previously created knowledge from the internet. Now, AI is generating more content than humans. In a few more years, the internet could be 99% AI-generated content, and that content will have been created by some form of AI. We just released our interview with the father of Generative AI - Jürgen Schmidhuber! The G, P, and T in "ChatGPT" (GPT means "Generative Pre-Trained Transformer") go back to Juergen's work of 1990-91 when he published what's now called "Unnormalised Linear Transformers," "Self-Supervised Pre-Training" for deep learning with long texts, and "Generative Adversarial Networks" for Artificial Curiosity. Remarkably, principles of both Transformers and LSTMs date back to 1991, the only palindromic year of the 20th century! Transformers are easier to parallelise, but LSTMs can solve problems which are unsolvable by Transformers. In this first part of our two part show, we discuss the history and the future of the field, with a focus on abstract planning, reasoning, and "learning to think." It's just dropped on MLST!

We are reminded of Jesus’ teaching on the vine and the branches, and we consider what it means to live from God’s life rather than our own especially when we meet challenges in daily life and in parenthood. Finally, drawing wisdom from Wendell Berry, we explore how the natural world reveals that some of life’s deepest beauty and meaning emerge through encounter, resistance, and relationship, reminding us that we were never meant to be self-sufficient, but rooted in the source of all life.

It's much better to really look at things from a first-principles standpoint: What are the most fundamental truths in an arena?
