Hail Mary is quality slop. You only like it because it's a good story, played by good actors, well directed and visuals a good movie.

Movie Grace was so, so very much better. Book Grace was so annoying. Albeit probably more realistic.

Book grace was dumber only for the fact he spent 80% of the book extremely sleep deprived

Book Grace gets to display a ton more of his intelligence and he sprinkles lots of good humor and his more cynical parts through the book. Movie Grace is more steralized but they kept all his main character traits which was great

Honestly, After reading the book: Movie Grace > Book Grace.

I'm a rare person that absolutely loved the book and thought the movie was mediocre. It wasn't necessarily a bad adaptation, but it also wasn't great because it left too much out and changed a few things that had no reason to be changed.

I know it’s impossible to adapt everything into a movie, but I would have liked more time to be spent on the discovery that he is on a spaceship. In the book, it takes Grace several days, various experiments, and a number of flashbacks to realize he is in space.

Sometimes I wonder if I switch personalities Moon Knight style and post from this account as my alter ego because it correlates a little too well with all the media I consume

Movie Grace has a window. Why Andy Weir didn't give the book Grace a window? I know when travelling near the speed of light, the space won't be like a near vacuum, so you'll need stronger hull materials, but a little window at the back of the ship wouldn't hurt anyone
