Yup. Had a cop in Duval County tell my neighbor and I exact the same thing after an attempted break-in. That was about 15 years ago now.

Florida is stand your ground. We have no permit concealed weapons and if I feel threatened I can shoot you legally. Not just in my house in public. You don’t see a lot of Walmart antics here it’s pretty peaceful cuz everyone’s strapped!!!
