Protect this man, at all costs!

I love Ian Gillan and Deep Purple, but... he is absolutely NOT still "delivering" at all. he is elderly, and can barely sing at all, much less sound anything like he did 53 years ago.

Incredible really, and Ian Paice and Roger Glover are remarkable as well. For the amount of physical effort the drums require, it's amazing that Paice is still able to do what he did 50+ years ago.

Gillan hasn't been able to hit those notes since the 80's. He ought to come up with a new arrangement that utilizes what voice he has. He can still sing but he ought not to keep struggling with those high notes.

Fair play if fans still enjoy it and want to see them, but when he was trying to hit the high notes it sounded like an old woman who had snagged her best cardigan on a three bar fire and was crying out in despair.

He looks like an old man. He sounds like an old man and he sounds like shit. Give it up.

Sorry mate, Deep Purple are an absolute embarrassment nowadays, it's genuinely sad, and he cannot hit 1 note .

But Ian Gillan no longer sings the song "Child in Time." He has explained in interviews that it is no longer physically possible for him to sing the song the way it needs to sound, and he does not want to use a lower key.
