UK DIDN’T STOP GENOCIDE IN SUDAN “BECAUSE IT WAS EASIER” TO STAND WITH UAE The UK government knowingly prioritised its relationship with the UAE over preventing a g*nocide in Sudan, according to human rights investigator Nathaniel Raymond. Appearing before the UK Parliament’s International Development Committee, the Executive Director of the Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL) at Yale, testified that the UK Foreign Office (FCDO) repeatedly dismissed warnings about imminent atrocities perpetrated by the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in North Darfur’s state capital Al-Fashir. Al-Fashir fell to the RSF in October 2025, triggering massacres described by the UN as bearing the hallmarks of g*nocide.
