Dr. David Anders along with Scott Hahn were instrumental in my conversion to Catholicism!

Dr. David Anders was a great influence on me. I was already questioning at that point but he certainly moved the needle further.

Of all the people I would not want to be on the opposing end of a debate with, Dr. Anders is the most.

I can certainly see that. I think there are a few with specific areas of expertise depending on the topic that get mention, but him as a representative for all-around debate is right there.

Protestants trying to think about where the Bible came from :

Why can’t they just have humility; at beginning he said “I see your point” then proceeded to continue arguing how he thinks he got the Bible.

I think because it exposes the relativism. "I believe because I believe" is not an argument, but that's ultimately what the caller was arguing for in my opinion. It also shows a lack of seriousness in wrestling with epistemology. "How do I know what I know or think I know?" is not a place people feel comfortable. In fact they feel quite vulnerable as their identity is at stake. I, on the other hand, am quite comfortable swimming in those waters. Have been there for... all my life I suppose. I have no problem admitting I'm wrong, have built in standards of evidence by which to make decisions, and ultimately just want to know what is true. The only way I can know what is true is to be able to admit when I'm wrong and the evidence leads elsewhere.
