Yesterday, when these Nihang Sikhs arrived at the CJP protest, they said they had come to Delhi only for one day to support the protest and would return afterward. Today, they are now saying that they will stay in Delhi as long as the CJP protest continues and that they will not go back. Yesterday, the Nihangs openly waved swords in Delhi, and today they are refusing to leave. Why are they staying in Delhi now? Today, my friend and I were attacked on a bus because of our sexual orientation. Two aggressive individuals asked us if we were gay, and we replied: “Yes, is that a problem?” One of them immediately punched my friend in the face and threw an e-cigarette at me. Then, they attacked me as well. At one point, both of them were hitting me. They didn’t leave us alone and kept threatening us. Right now, we are in the hospital, waiting for the police to take action. Brussels must be a safe city for LGBT people and for everyone!

They have accepted corruption as normal, poverty as fate, and incompetence as inevitable. They have stopped questioning, stopped demanding, stopped fighting. They have become comfortable with the chaos, and that comfort is the very thing that keeps them trapped.
